Have to admit, this move I don't understand. One of the better ball players on mediocre teams and we let him go. There must have been defensive situations and schemes he would have fit into. Good attitude, good hitter. He will show up somewhere, so good luck to him.
Do you want a player that can fit into "some" schemes, or a player that can fit into many? I'm not a coach, so I'll trust their judgment.
sigpig..What I meant was that he is the type of player who can be the 4th linebacker, extra db in some schemes, even rush from the linebacker position. All teams use LBs that way now.Used that way he would be on the field more than not.
why haven't the cats played jamacia jackson, this guy is a true baller who can bang with anyone, also they should sign cliff ivory and bernard williams.
I'm not trying to argue, but Hitch was the same type of player. At this point, we don't know why he was released. For all we know, this may have freed up a roster spot for another good FA signing...
sigpig: don't even get me going on why Hitch was let go....cue for all the "don't live in the past" postings.....Really, I just think Cox was a very athletic player and could help in many ways.
Hitch was a hard, yet necessary release. I don’t know enough about Cox one way or the other. We won’t know until we hear more of the story.
I don't mean to be and A$$ but Cox was to small to be a LB and to slow to be a DB so this release isn't as big as other releases this season.
I've liked Cox for a number of years(Sounds a little sick but hear me out LMAO!) but he has simply been a casualty of the new team with the new coaches the favourites get tossed out the window and like someone said Kavis Reed and Cox were close. He made up for his lack of size at LB with hustle, and his lack of speed with his hitting ability he is a great athlete but this is just a case of a player out performing another.
