5th leading rusher in the CFL last season … HUGE loss for a team looking to crawl out of the basement.

Is there a curse on Ottawa? Last season was a disaster for injuries in Ottawa.
Adams The backup QB starts the season, looks good then suffers season ending injury.
Masoli starts and is injured again in his first game
Top kick/punt returner Dedmon goes down in game two. .

Yeah, either just terrible luck or something is wrong with the team’s approach to strength and conditioning?

Always sad to see a talented player lose their season to injury.

You have to wonder. Remember a couple of years ago the Riders lost 4 guys to achilles injuries in one practice. He looked like he was just coming into his own there.

Does anyone know what the healing time is for surgery on such an injury? Is it possible that Williams could be back by mid season?

It is typically 1 year or a bit longer. It is rare to come back much quicker although it has been done in as little as 8 months. Everything has to go perfectly with surgery, rehab and the individual has to be an exceptionally quick healer.

Thanks to PorkyPine and narles for their responses to my question re: healing time. I am sorry to hear that this could cost Williams his season and also the hit Ottawa will be taking with his absence. While I am not a RedBlacks fan, I do want to see every team fielding their best. Let’s hope for a speedy recovery.
