Nice 7 - 8 yard routes run by the Ottawa receivers on the 3rd down and 10. :roll:

Did Burris call it hoping for YAC, or was it the receiver?

The route seemed to be a turn and stop route - where you know you will get hit as soon as you catch it. On the replay at least 2 receivers seemed to run similar stop and turn routes - all less than 10 yards.

I think they need to get rid of the flag gesture obj conduct call. Even Crompton got called for it and it slows down the game and is a disservice to the refs who have to call it. How can you expect ref invisibility when you have them calling players for doing no harm and voicing and opinion for less then 3 seconds.

But it had gotten to the point that receivers did it EVERY time there was a contested play, sometimes even not, and THAT was getting out of control, and standing up the refs.

Doesn’t seem to happen often; it is an easily learned non-behaviour.

I wouldn't fire Campbell, but I would hand Mike Gibson his walking papers as soon as the season's over. This is his second kick at the can being an OC and he's failed badly.

except it’s not. the CIS doesn’t call this objectionable conduct neither does the NCAA neither does the NFL, neither does the Arena League and I don’t believe most high school or junior football make this call. just about every avenue that you would use to get into the CFL doesn’t make this call it’s not easy to unlearn. Even if it was its ridiculous who cares if the guy makes a gesture it’s not offensive, it harms no one and it’s just another step towards our game becoming more like the no fun league.

What they need to get rid of is challenges on PI. The CC called PI in the first quarter faster than anytime all season and there was NO DAMN PI ON THE PLAY!!! What they saw is a mystery. So because of a phantom call made by a guy in front of a monitor 3 hours from where the game is played Montreal gets gifted 7 points and wins by 6. This idiocy must stop.

And yet another game I shut off rather than watch the game the CC wanted played. I’ll wait for game decided by the players.

Hard to fire a coach after an expansion year, but i haven't been impressed with the play calling all year and especially the " review of the review" tonight.

I thought what he did was embarrassing considering it was only a 6 point game at the time and who knows what could have happened later on? His team could have potentially used that challenge before the conclusion of the contest.

It was like he was trying to show the league some sort of message that could have potentially hurt his team or he is just foolish/naive to think the CFL would actually overturn the original call.

Im questioning whether this is pro football or not. Rediculous penalties, some warrented some not, and a lack of quality of play is really taking its toll on the CFL brand this season.

Couldn't watch this one as I had something else on but just finished watching the highlights, man Ottawa just can't buy a win. Good to see they gave O'Brien some playing time. Good win for the Als though.
