RedBlacks @ TiCats - Oct.23

Depth charts are out. The TiCats making 8 changes, that number matched only going into Game 2 @ Regina. Also, both Sean Thomas Erlington and Darius Ciraco are listed as GTDs, and Murray, Daly, and Garand-Gauthier have all been put on the 6-game injured list. 2 TiCats are set to make their pro debuts -- Travis Vornkahl, staring at LT and '21 global draftee David Izinyon as a D-line backup.

The RedBlacks show 9 changes, from their last game line-up, including "Duck" Hodges, dressing for his first CFL game as their second QB, and Terry Williams, making his CFL and pro debut, in place of injured star returner DeVonte Dedmon.

So if Ciraco can't start one of the Canadian receivers will have to start.

We have seven Canadian starters and two are game-time decisions. I assume Ungerer would be first up if we have to start one more Cdn. If we have to start two more ... I have no idea.

STE has 2 Canadian backups so that spot is ok. If Ciraco can't go then Yarbrough is the backup so a Canadian would have to start in another spot.

All eyes will be on Vornkahl. Rookie making his 1st start at the critical LT position. Fingers crossed. :crossed_fingers:

Trivia question: Will this be the first time in CFL history that 50% of all the quarterbacks on the two rosters share the same last name?

There's another Masoli?

Garney would have a stroke.

With Dedmon out of the lineup the Cats literally have zero excuses not to nuke the RedBlacks right out of the stadium.

Whoa! Careful. That might take Balsam, Beechwood, Melrose and Cannon with it... :sob:

His debut? He's been in the league since 2017 playing for Calgary and Edmonton! And he's a pretty decent kick and punt returner...

Ohhhh! That Terry Williams! Never mind...

The alternative might be rioting fans if it ends up being 3 straight divisional homefield losses.

Just to be clear -- two different guys.
The Terry Williams, who played for both Alberta teams, is a 29 year-old RB out of Kutztown U. in Pennsylvania. The RedBlacks' Terry Williams is 4 years younger, a WR who attended the U. of Tennesse at Martin, was signed by Ottawa in mid September, but hasn't suited up prior to this. In 2019, at UTM, he averaged 18 yds. on returning 22 punts which included returns of 55 and 65 yds for TDs and his longest return covered 71 yds. Maybe no Dedmon, but be careful Cats!

Looking at the depth chart we are short 1 Canadian. If Ciraco or STE can’t play we are very thin at Canadian backups

STE has Bennet and Irons behind him no problem there. Ciraco not starting will result in a Canadian starting at one of the receiver spots. Most likely Ungerer at WR and move Banks into White's spot

Yes but I mean we are losing quite a few Canadians on our roster

Yup. Our Canadian depth has been tested all year. The O-line was supposed to be a big part of our Canadian content.

Have to get some maybe from trades or cuts

Hard to pick up good Canadian players during the year.

Have to do something because we’ve got a few Canadians on the 6 game
