OTTAWA — The Ottawa REDBLACKS announced on Wednesday that they have signed American quarterback Tyrie Adams to a one-year contract extension.
When Adams played, his numbers were pretty impressive, as noted above, and I thought the kid had some real potential.
I guess the Redblacks think so too. . . so despite having Dru Brown, Masoli, and Crum already on the roster, they’ve chosen to extend him
They must not be overly sold on one or more of the other three.
I think next year it will be Brown, Adams and Crum. Masoli likely retires or he goes to a team that needs a veteran.
I hope redblacks can keep Masoli on the coaching staff. From what I understand, he’s one of the best teammates a team can have but I agree he should retire. Happy to see him back this year though.
Adams is the forgotten man in that QB unit but IMO he’s got a lot of potential. I’d keep him over Crum honestly.
Every season Ottawa signs a boat load of mediocre quarterbacks with various ailments and winds up with the most over populated and least healthy bullpen in the CFL. This strategy must be working really well otherwise they wouldn’t keep doing it right?

I agree that it’s probably time for Ottawa to move on from Masoli.
If I was the GM (and believe it or not I’m available) I would do something crazy… I’d snag VA in the offseason and jettison every QB on my team that couldn’t do twenty pushups and ten laps around the field.
Then I’d do something equally crazy by surrounding my newly acquired QB with the best talent my team could afford.
Now if you’ll excuse me I have to get back into my straight jacket before the nice men in white find out that I’ve wriggled out of my restraints.
