REDBLACKS sign QB Tom Flacco

OTTAWA — The Ottawa REDBLACKS have signed American quarterback Tom Flacco.

The six-foot-one, 205-pound pivot from Voorhees N.J. played his college football at Towson. The 26-year-old was signed by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in January of this year. He was one of the team’s final cuts at the conclusion of training camp.

Redblacks sign every FA QB available out there. :stuck_out_tongue:

How else do they find another starter ... dah!

Great to see they are trying to right the ship . Need a few holes filled besides QB the largest one .

Now get em up to speed and play the rest of the season as a huge exhibition season .

Nothing to lose and everything to gain .

They should try and acquire Ottawa native Michael O'Connor.
O'Connor has fallen to #3 in Calgary with Dave Dickenson once again giving the starting job to Jake Maier during Bo Levi Mitchell's injury sabbatical.
He previously refused to give real starting opportunities to Canadians Brad Sinopoli and Andrew Buckley either.
He once called Canadians "damn Canadians". He clearly doesn't want to play Canadians at Q.B.
O'Connor is a talented Q.B., but needs a chance to prove it.
If Dave Dickenson had been a coach in the 1960s, Russ Jackson wouldn't have ever seen the field!

Dickenson like any coach would start the best available QB.
If O'Connor demonstrated that he deserved number 1 or 2 he would be starting.
Likely that he isn't ready yet and the other two are ready.

This new QB Caleb looks like he has potential and Duck Hodges has a great resume. You don't go after a player that is on contract just because he's from Ottawa.
