EDMONTON – Both teams battled until the final whistle, tied with just eight seconds left at Commonwealth Stadium on Sunday night, but it was Lewis Ward who kicked the winning walk-off field goal for the Ottawa REDBLACKS as they came out victorious, defeating the Edmonton Elks 37-34 in Week 6 action.
No disrespect intended to Ottawa but Edmonton got 0 pressure on Brown and their secondary was unable to cover all night. Having said that, credit to OTT’s O-line for keeping Brown clean.
Why would TSN switch coverage to a soccer game it was already carrying on one if its other channels? Could they not have stayed with the CFL on one channel so we could catch the post game show? That would have been very interesting in view of the exciting finish. Soccer fans could just hav stayed on the other channel.
One sack, one time. That’s great and all but he finished the night with 400+ yards. Had time to find receivers on deep routes. Shredded Edmonton for big gains even when they were in coverage mode.
No one finds more innovative ways to lose. Seriously, kicking it out of bounds on the final kick to put the RB’s in position to be the, what, 4th team to beat the Elks with a walk off FG???
Unbelievable, the Elks found another way to lose a game. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that kick out of bounds technique ever work. The ball was not only spotted at the 50 but it took little time off the clock. Shame on Bede, Shame on Jones.
