OTTAWA ā The Ottawa REDBLACKS made another significant addition to their secondary, signing American defensive back Trumaine Washington, the team announced on Thursday.
Redblacks got a good player. As soon as Jones was hired it was a pretty good bet Trumaine wasn't in the plans IMO. He's 5'8", which takes nothing away from his skills, but Jones wants tall guys back there. As of today, of the 10 new DB's brought by Jones to the CFL for tryouts, 9 are over 6'. We'll see how that works out.
Most of them are using platform sneakers. Real six foot plus DB's who can cover get snapped up by the NFL.
