OTTAWA — The Friday night game between the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Ottawa REDBLACKS didn’t mean a lot with regard to the standings, but you wouldn’t be able to tell with how the game panned out in the nation’s capital. Both teams fought until the very end in a game which had seven lead changes, but it was the REDBLACKS who finished on top 37-31 to end their five-game losing spell.
Ticat GM Ed Hervey needs to get on the phone right now and sign Tre Ford to a longterm contract. Tomorrow is the first day of rebuilding a Ticat team that can make the playoffs.
The Cats end the final game just like the season - just short of winning. What an entertaining game with the skilled pivots and the dynamite receivers Dunbar and Pimpleton. Honourable mention to Addison who plays like a tiger. The Ottawa-Toronto Game is a must-watch.
It’s going to be a long winter in the blast furnaces of Hamilton. You have to do more than beat the Argos three times to make the playoffs, Tabbies. Also try doing some real recruiting instead of signing the Argos practice squad. Tim White is a great receiver – when he doesn’t drop the ball.
Well that was entertaining! Both offences were just lighting it up; was great to see. I was surprised at how open the receivers were. Sure there were some tight passes but also a lot of times where the receiver just ran away from the defender with ease (how could Pimpleton get so open with a minute to go and RB’s behind?)
Good to see Dru and crew back in the form they had at mid-season.
D were playing a good offence, but tackling still has to be better. Except that goal-line stance, and the tackle at the 1-yd line prior to that. That was awesome tackling.

Hey Ticats GM Ed Hervey WAKE UPPPP!!! You have a team to rebuild that will make the playoffs. Our Defence needs some new teeth. We need better DT’s who have the size and athletic ability of a Grover Covington. We need new DE’s who batter QB’s like Joe Montfort. We need new Linebackers who punish and absolutely destroy running backs like Calvin Tiggle. Get to work Ed. If Cats don’t make the playoffs in 2025, you will be “FIRED” before 2026!!!
Ed needs to fire himself now. Like the Lions did before he came to Hamilton with his baggage. His first year as the ‘only’ GM and the team regressed to 7 - 11.
The defence lacked the necessary talent to stop both the run and the pass and this flawed group was too difficult to repair by mid-season. This was a lost season and I agree, Ed gotta go.
