OTTAWA — The Ottawa REDBLACKS made a statement in front of their fans on Friday.
Kalil Pimpleton scored a 99-yard punt return touchdown in the third quarter to put an exclamation point on a dominant 33-6 REDBLACKS win over the Calgary Stampeders at TD Place. The dynamic pass-catcher and special teamer also caught seven passes for 80 yards as the leading receiver on the night.
The Calgary Stampeders must do 2 Things immediately to improve their football team. Fire coach Dave Dickinson and release Jake Mair ASAP. This was by far the worst football game of this great 2024 campaign.
Coach Dickinson and his pop gun Offence could not even defeat my High School Football team. The irony is the Stamps record could easily be 6-1 after that “Dreadful” performance in Week 8 in the nation’s capital.
To all my haters-My 2 favorite teams remain my hometown Argos and the Eskimos-Now Elks ?
Very poor display by the Stamps. Their record is a pretty good indication of who they are. You don’t know what you’re getting on any given day.
Last year something changed. The East won 19 of the 32 games vs the West. With 2 more wins this week they are 10-6 vs the West. There are arguably more competitive teams out East now than there are out West.
There’s a lot of season left to play, so I’m not stating this as conclusive, but it sure does seem like the established power structure in the West has changed this year, with BC and Saskatchewan on top and Calgary and Winnipeg more MOR teams that aren’t going to be dominant as they have in years past. Sadly the only constant is Edmonton being the league punching bag, which hopefully changes ASAP.
What is going on in Calgary? Yeah, it was a short week and they had to travel East, but come on, that display was pathetic. A head scratcher for sure, Now if they blow out the opposition next game, I will be really co9nfused.
