RedBlacks-Als game thread

After several years, I finally get to start a thread.

Looks like a barn burner. 1-0 midway through the second quarter.

As someone on the Ticats forum said, great goaltending so far.

Not the most riveting game to be sure - but at least the panel is going to be well-fed!
We’ll see how much “gobble” dee gook they come up with at half time!

Two teams that probably will not be competing for the Grey Cup…

I will say that the weather was much nicer when I was in Montreal a few weeks ago, compared to what I am seeing on TV today…

If it’s anything like it is here, it’s not a pleasant day for sitting out watching a game - especially now that it’s started to rain! It looks like it’s a few degrees warmer than our current 7C but the rain might make it feel colder.

Ottawa playing for playoff lives

Als deep in own end with over 30 seconds. RedBlacks have 2 timeouts. They don’t call any when they could have forced a punt and had decent field position with time on the clock

k’mon Khari

Turning into a bit of a slaughter. Hard to watch so I’m barely watching it.

As bad as Saskatchewan is playing I would still have to give the worst team of the year award to Ottawa. They were supposed to get better this year and instead unfortunately got worse.

At least Bob Dyce has 4 wins as a head coach, something Paul LaPolice wasn’t able to do as the head coach in Ottawa for 2 seasons.

And they were desperate enough to put Arbuckle into the game on that last series - or should I just say “2 and out”! Have they even strung together 2 first downs in this game - or in this half?

Just two bad teams. How do you have offsides on both teams on a play???

This should be overturned on the challenge. I don’t think that was pass interference.

Edit: apparently I’m wrong, the ruling on the field stands. Maybe Ottawa can break the goose egg here.

If nothing else, they’re close enough to kick a FG

And they indeed get 3 points. Montreal’s dreams of a shutout have come to an end.

Or not - I forgot that they had Domagala kicking but he does manage to knock it through.

BTW - did anyone figure out that this is Maltos’ first CFL game kicking for the larks?

Down by 4 scores and kicking a field goal. Not much of a sense of urgency…

Wonder if the RedCrums locker room has lost faith in Coach Bobby Dyce?

At this stage of the game, I imagine they were just trying to get that goose egg off the board, but no they need far more than a FG which we know ain’t going to happen.
