Receiving Leaders 2023 Season

WEEK 1

I wonder how well Mack will be able to keep up this pace in Montreal. They could sure use more games like Week 1 to help replace Lewis’s production.

OMG the pdf files are worse than last year to work with. i’m so disappointed in this. i can’t extract a dam thing from this crap format and it’s unnecessary. delimited data files have been around since the 50’s. even the most rudimentary data software can export delimited so they are just doing this on purpose.

“Every time I threw his way it seemed like he caught it,” Fajardo told TSN’s Kenzie Lalonde. “I told you guys leading up to this week that we had some young receivers that were going to make some plays.

“He was one of them. I’ve seen it in training camp and I couldn’t wait for him to put it on tape. People around the league will start taking notice.”

Is Mack going to be one of this year’s break-out stars?

I wish they’d show receptions and targets side by side.

After Week 2

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: WR DAMONTE COXIE, TORONTO ARGONAUTS

It was an impressive debut for Argos QB Chad Kelly (75.4 overall grade) and a large part of that was thanks to Coxie’s strong play. The receiver caught six of seven targets for a massive 131 yards (he drew a pass interference penalty on the other target). Two of those targets were contested catches, and he also forced three missed tackles after the catch. His 4.52 yards per route run was second in the entire league.

A familiar face back on top:

After Week 3

Interesting that we have two Ticats leading the way.

And sad that we’re not going to see Malik Henry putting up any more YAK this season.

I like the target % stat. Nic Demski doing well this year.

That is pretty impressive, given that he’s had a decent number of targets, and some long ones to boot.

And now the Bombers have Lawler returning to the lineup.

Any word on when either of the Philpot twins will be back? Hopefully they can continue their progression when the do return.

Tyson Philpot aura terminé son purgatoire de 6 parties, mais je doute qu’il soit sur le terrain Dimanche, car nous n’avons eu aucun écho à l’effet qu’il aurait pratiqué avec la première unité cette semaine. À suivre.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: WR NATE BEHAR, OTTAWA REDBLACKS

It was a fantastic game for Behar, even if his raw stats may have been overshadowed by others across the CFL. Nonetheless, his 78.0 receiving grade this week led the league for a reason — Behar made clutch catch after clutch catch. He picked up multiple first downs on his catches and led all WRs with three missed tackles forced on his receptions. His late fourth-quarter touchdown catch to put the Redblacks up was huge but not as huge as his game-winning two-point conversion catch. After a slow start to the season, Behar is now the clear No. 1 receiver for QB Dustin Crum, as he leads the CFL in targets and receptions since Crum took over.
