RE: Hamilton

I don't think Taffe is a terrible coach, but I think he's surrounded himself with a poor cast of coaches. They need improvements in that area, and some continuity, way too many changes on that team year to year.

I don’t get it Dust, Charlie was good during his years in Montreal.
Then he comes back and hires his assistants, what the OC and DC from the States with no CFL experience.

I agree Zeke. These fans have been there at every game through thick and thin for the past 4 years, often suffering through horrible and disappointing losses. And we always came back. But I don't know how much more patient we can be.

We're not a wealthy city. Many blue collar workers. If they don't feel they're getting their money's worth, they won't put money into it.

I did hear through Ken Peters Cat Chat on the Spec website that the OC and DC will probably be gone at the end of the season, maybe even by next Monday. He also said that Desjardins job may not be safe and Dan Rambo may be the next GM.

He always seems to have the scoop on what's going on in the organization, so this could all be true.

I hope they right this sinking ship soon.

They need to find more players with two J's in their names.

Didn't Jo-Jo have a brain fart in the return game against the Bombers. Oh yes he did! And my buddy Mike Mahoney got his first TD. Well, sign him up!

Rumour in the paper out here says Bob Young is going to do another "House Cleaning" starting with the GM. Any truth to that rumour? How many times can you start over again?

See Saskatchewan Roughriders, circa. 1978-1988.

If Young gets rid of Desjardins and Taffe , it would be a huge mistake. Taffe needs coaches who have CFL experience and know the CFL game. They have some great talent on both sides of the ball, and if you can add a few more players, they will be better. The Cats may be 2-15 as of right now, but they are not far off from being a far better team than their record shows.

The worst thing they could possibly do is get rid of the coach. We knew we weren't going to be in the Grey Cup in the first year of the new regime. Probably not in the second year either. But in the third year we fully expect to be, at the very least, in the running. How will we ever get there if they don't even give this group a second season?

If you want to build a skyscraper, the first step is to dig a big hole in the ground. That's been done, and the foundation has been laid. Now is the time to start to build on that foundation, not to go to another site and dig another hole.

As fans we have endured this CRAPPY season believing that something is being built here. If the organization now turns around and flushes it all down the toilet and asks us to sit through another CRAPPY season where we're being told that something is being built here, you'll see a lot of fans not returning next year.

I can't say for certain that I won't be among them.

If this is the case, the Riders must be building one incredibly huge building because they dug one huge hole before Barrett and Shivers showed up.

Well said Dave. The only way Charlie leaves now is if he wants out. Gotta stay with him for 3 years at least as you imply.
