According to Drew's blog. Sad to see Ray go. He's a great guy and has been a true asset to the team on and off the field. All the best to Ray

I assume Jadon Wagner will be the favorite to fill his role as a guy that's on great special teams and play a few snaps on defense every now and then. Thanks to Ray Mariuz for his contributions over the past five seasons.

Sad to see you go Ray, you played ST like no other.Best of luck in the future

Even though we will miss Mariuz, I do understand and appreciate the fact that he has likely taken the time to really consider his life and career and feels that his real estate career deserves the attention at this time. I do wonder if the Ticats management and coaching staff saw this coming and if they're prepared for it. With all of the emphasis on DB's and kickers, and now Mariuz gone, training camp is shaping up to be a real barnburner! 8)

I am happy for Ray
He do well with the Royal Lepage Team.

Happy Retirement Ray

He is a great guy and played with passion and heart every game we will definitely miss Ray on special teams this year.. I wish him all the best and maybe he can find me a nice house when I'm ready to purchase in a couple years..

That makes it exactly 1/3 of the 42 guys dressed in the team's last game now gone.

Good luck to him in his future endeavors. A professional football career is not long and most need a plan for when it ends. Glory Days.

True ! Just today there was an article in the Glanbrook/Caledonia paper…seems former Tiger-Cat Sandy Beveridge is now a Hamilton firefighter (Binbrook station)

Yeah, we heard when he announced his retirement 10 mos. ago.

Didn't expect this, & I'm sad to see Ray go, but he's a great guy, team player & fantastic with the fans. Thanks for all your effort, Ray!

Excellent !

Congrats to Ray Mariuz - a steady eddie TC and MAC alum.

So who takes his spot on Canadian Row? http://ticats.ca/video/index/id/12887

Excellent question!! I want to see the next competition.

Excuse my ignorance but who is Jadon Wagner?

One of our draft picks, 6’4 240lb linebacker that started at BYU last year, he also plays special teams and was supposed to go higher in the draft but for some reason he fell to the later rounds.

All the best to him will miss him. And Ray, my wife will really miss you, she thought you were “hot”, whatever that means. Probably the opposite of what I am, I suppose. :o

Good for Ray for going out on his terms. Not many do. I'll always remember him as an honest soldier, and the epitome of a team guy.

An Argo-Cat fan

A solid underrated player who made some good contributions on special teams and some on defence as well. Thank you for your contributions on and off the field here, Ray, and good luck to you in your real estate career.

If what I’ve been hearing about Wagner is true, then he’ll fit right in, playing the role Mariuz played here.

And will this effect the possibility of moving Barrenechea to FB?
