3DN put out a ranking of all 24 CFL uniforms. Rather than going into that much detail, I’m thinking about favourite 10.

I like away jerseys to not have too much white. They should show the teams colours plenty.

A wise bunch who chose.

For decades I have thought the Bombers home (blue) uniforms to be far and away the best in the CFL and I was pleased to see that the panel of experts agreed with me. No other team has as nearly an effective colour combination. I also agree that their alternate uniforms suck. Their gold alternates were much better.

Of course we can argue about this all day but my only other comments are that I have always thought highly of the Ticats home uniforms as did this group, but never thought highly of the Stamps uniforms and strongly disagree with the high ranking for their “Pop Shoppe” unis.

Hamilton has done a pretty good job over the years. For their home jerseys, though, I still wish they’d bring back some white on the sleeves.

I liked those old gold alternates Winnipeg had. I’d like to see more non-white road uniforms in general. Winnipeg could be gold. BC is grey. Toronto could use Cambridge blue as away and Oxford as home. Someone could adopt a beige/cream away jersey . . . maybe Calgary?

I gotta say I disagree with some of the oddball choices here

Lions in particular way too highly ranked

Yeah, I really hate a couple of their favourites. Calgary’s barber poles come immediately to mind as kindling.

For me:

  1. Hamilton’s 3rd jersey steel greys.
  2. BC’s 3rd jersey charcoals.
  3. Hamilton’s road whites w yellow pants.
  4. Winnipeg’s home blues.
  5. Calgary’s 3rd jersey blacks. Side note… love the barbed wire stripe on the helmet.
  6. Edmonton’s home greens.
  7. Hamilton’s home blacks.
  8. Sask 3rd jersey retro greens (with the Safeway S helment logo) (I wish they’d go back to the Durant-era greens with the white and black shoulder stripe as their main jersey)
  9. Montreal’s home blues

I don’t like any others enough to fill in the last slot.

Tie for current ugliest between Totonto’s powder blues and Calgary’s red abominations. But neither comes close to the gawd-awful BC creamsicles with the white top/orange pants combo from the past few years. Blech.

Favourite classic uni… Montreal Alouettes blues from the 70s… red sleeves, white shoulder band on a blue jersey, white pants and the blue hat with the triangle logo. Close runner up… Hamilton’s old home blacks with the white sleeves and black/gold stripes and yellow helmet.

I liked the ones with the stripes on the arms after the redesign a few years ago. I think Hamilton and Edmonton did it best at that time, though I’m not sure if they’ve changed since then as that must have been over 5 years ago now.

Okay so I’m not going to comment on the uniforms but what I will comment on is that this has to be the worst impersonation of John Daly that I have ever seen . :laughing: It’s almost as bad as that fugly looking butt ugly jersey that he is wearing ! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Definitely agree with # 24 though it should be a tie with # 23 and as a Bomber fan # 1 in my books Is of course # 1

I thought the BC away uni’s actually looked good last week.

I also appreciate that the Elks have avoided having a Black uniform. There are teams that have used those as their team colors and that’s where it should end - Ottawa, BC and Hamilton.

The Elks classic Green and Gold/ White Green with the yellow pants is clean and classic. They worked the antlers in nicely but avoided the overly busy and bringing back the classic Double E helmets was perfect.

The only team that should have black is Ottawa. BC should be orange and white and Calgary should be red and white.

I agree with you on Calgary, but I think BC should have black. They’ve had since long before it became the fad. I wouldn’t mind seeing Hamilton return to gold/yellow helmets, though.

Yup.

I’m just happy that Saskatchewan (for quite a while now) and Calgary (mostly) have ditched black. And even the Argos have ditched their near-black Oxford blue helmets.

Yup…agree. Except Hamilton gets back too. That black and Yellow is just too iconic to mess with.

The only uniforms I have seen that look good without strong or contrasting colours between jersey’s and pants are Hamiltons Steel Grey uni’s. It’s whats really wrong with Winnipeg’s third uni, and Argos new uni’s.

Agreed. I forgot Hamilton originally and thus probably have minutes at most until an angry mob drives me off this forum.

Guess I am in the minority as I preferred this helmet.
The dark coloured blue unis as well.

The baby blue have to be the worst in the league right now IMO.

Yeah, they discovered fire last season and have some pyros that want tot burn stuff…

For me it’s not so much that I disliked the Oxford helmets or jerseys, but that I find there’s too much black (or near black, with the Argos and Als dark blue) in the league.

If I had my druthers, I’d have the Argos wear Cambridge jerseys on the road and Oxford jerseys at home. But I’d keep the Cambridge helmet for all games . . . though I’d add some type of Oxford blue striping to it.

The light blue is unique vs the dark blue on other teams
I dunno why all the hate I see other teams with far worse uni (esp Lions)
