a little confusing, he says don't worry, but nothing is certain

Amongst all this wide spread panic from us the CFL fan, I don't understand why this NFL coming to Canada is such a big deal. The media has BOLWN THIS WAY OUT OF PROPORTION. In an earlier post by myself about this very topic The Bills averaged 71,055 which was 10th in league attendance for this past season. They sell out EVERY GAME and how many of them are from southern Ontario? They have a great stadium in Buffalo. The Rogers Centre couldn't host an NFL team on a regular basis. It's higest attended football game was the 1989 Grey Cup with a whopping 54,000 people which would put them below the Indianoplis Colts who had the lowest average attendance 57,305 and they are moving to a bigger stadium for the 2008 season. THE BILLS ARE STAYING IN BUFFALO! As for expansion, London sold out their game and is getting another one this year, does that mean London is going to have an NFL franchise in the next 10 years? NOT BLOODY LIKELY! I can name at least five American cities who are likely to get NFL franchise before Toronto and so can many of you.

CFL fans don't lose sleep over this. Lets focus on the upcoming 2008 season. The schedule should be out in the next week. Free agency begins next Saturday. Lets wonder if the Roughriders can repeat (I think it's going to be 18 years before they see another Grey Cup).

We have a great commisioner who has got the CFL going in the right direction. The CFL has IMO the best people in TSN as sole television rights holders for the next 5 years. The CFL has the greatest fans in the world. Trust me we've been through this many times before and we are still standing.

Steve, that was an Xtreme post. Kudos.

The bottom line is that Ralph can take in more money in a 55,000 skydome than he can in a 73,000 seat stadium in Buffalo. At reported current ticket prices and with the dollars on par, Toronto will take in at least 2 million more for a game, probably more. Not a difficult choice for everybody cashing in on this.

how do they make more if there are less seats? Ticket prices? I'm not familiar with the economics of stadiums and profits

i always wondered what darth sidious i eer i mean ralph wilson does in the off season

Not that I disagree with those numbers, but that’s 18,000 fewer beers and dogs going down on top of other concessions.

The article quotes he will get between 35 to 50 million for the 8 games....likely close to double of having the games in buffalo.

It also goes on to state that the buffalo season ticket average cost is now $16/game then last years average. So it is all relative, they could up the cost of the tickets and make the same amount as Toronto. I suspect, this is nothing more then Ralph being nice to a community that has supported his team over the years.

But as i’ve asked before, how many people do you think are actually going to buy a ticket for a regular season game when the cheapest one is $100.00?

Won’t happen.

That is also the rub, there aren't any $100 tickets and Rogers was arrogant about it when asked.

"Ralph Wilson said the Bills aren't going anywhere..."
...over his dead body!

I DONT CARE WHERE THE BILLS PLAY THEY STILL SUCK THE ONLY 2 FOOTBALL TEAMS THAT MEAN ANYTHING ARE THE CLEVELAND BROWNS AND THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY BUCKEYES!!!!!!!!BILLS CAN MOVE ANYWHERE ON THIS PLANET AND THEY STILL WILL SUCK

you know sandusky there is a world outside of Ohio, Ohio which actually happens to be one of the largest contributors of pollution in the world.

MAN OUTSIDE OHIO TO BE HONEST TORONTO IS A GOOD PLACE I MET FOLKS FROM WESTERN CANADA AND THEY WERE MORE REDNECKED THAN MOST REDNECKS IN AMERICA.SERIOUS YALL ARE GOT SOME ISSUES WORSE THAN US IN TERMS OF PEOPLE U THINK PEOPLE IN ALBERTA AND OHIO ARE MUCH DIFFERENT I BET THEY HUNT DRINK BEER AND PRAISE GOD AND U KNOW WHAT CLEVELAND BROWNS WILL STILL WIN THE 2009 SUPER BOWL

You do have a point I have to admit, reluctantly, sandusky, about western Canada "rednecks". Lived in Fort McMurray for a short time and lots of drinking beer folk (like me), hunters (I think everyone in that town owns a pickup truck)(not like me), and people praising the Almighty (sort of like me in a way).

But hey, what's the real significant characteristic of anyone who is labelled a redneck? Hmmm, well, let me see...

Browns had a lucky year last year and aren't going anywhere, the ugliest uniforms in the world. They s*** big time. 8)

Reading that there are some meetings going on with Wilson, Goodell and politicians. The word 'sensitive' being used indicating that probably Wilson's estate is being discussed as the author mentions. Interesting.

"Senator Charles Schumer and Congressman Brian Higgins met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Wednesday morning to discuss the Bills future and the threat of a move to Toronto after Ralph Wilson passes away.

Schumer says that Goodell is determined to keep the Bills in Western New York, and in a significant development, will meet with Wilson, along with Schumer, to discuss ways to accomplish that goal.

Schumer called the subject of that meeting "sensitive," and would not get into details. That means Wilson's estate will be the focus of that discussion, and ways in which Wilson could help the transition to new ownership after he passes away." ...

you are hilarious sandusky, browns don't have a shot in hell at the 2009 superbowl. they'll make the playoffs but no superbowl. and there are a few in alberta, but not as many as the states. and our rednecks and yours are different. your rednecks own about 50 guns, where ours own 0-3. i read a disturbing fact the other day, not to put down Americans, but i read 15% of American's have had an incestual experience, that number goes up to 25% in the south.

my first statement was a little exaggerated and not so much fact, but the second one is.
