Thanks LeStaf, that's awesome that you would post your impressions. Really worrisome that we only have one QB showing "decent" and the others nowhere they need to be. Als are one injury from being dead last in their division.

I think Brink's struggles are the most worrisome. I'd expect younger guys like Marsh to struggle. But Brink? He's been in the league for a while and he must know that this is his last kick at the can. If he can't throw tight spirals in training camp, what is he going to do when live bullets are flying?

True, but Marsh is still very young and Klein is completely new to the league. Hopefully Worman can work with both of them on fundamentals. It's more concerning when Brink, who's been around the league for a number of years, is strugglign with fundamentals in training camp. That said, it's one day of practice. Hopefully they all bounce back...

I've said it before and I'll say it again. . .I'll be surprised if Brink makes the team.

I expect Smith to be the starter, Marsh the backup, and Klein or some other development project as 3rd string.

Going into the season with a total of nine games of experience at the QB position is a risky proposition. Brinxy would have to be a total bust not to get a chance to start on the roster.

Oh I agree it's risky. . . but on the other hand from what I've seen of Brink, I think "total bust" is not too far off the mark.

Marsh I can see. Still not sure how good he is or will be he kinda played last season by default so making many mistakes was chalked up to be a true rookie and has the skill etc. So there was not a lot of negative things.
Demarco I think fits that mold as well. really not sole on him.
If Brink is having mechanical things the QB coach will have to work on that with him. He did not have that problem in Winnipeg or NCAA with throwing spirals.
Hamilton
Toronto
Winnipeg
all seem to have the best stable of next generation CFL QBs
Calagary went from 3 lost Glenn grabbed MAC putting them back up to three but Macpherson is home with injury and the word I heard on talk radio is that Tate still not be healthy and ready for the season.

TBH I think Brink will make the team as the no. 3 brought in specifically for wildcat packages. He has familiarity with read-option stuff from his time in Winnipeg. I don't think he has a hope in hell of being higher than 3 on the depth chart.

Not quite sure how this happened but Smith is not practicing and in a knee brace and Jerald Brown is out as well with a resulting concussion. There is a reason you don't get near the QB during training camp.

From Herb, Troy Smith was hurt in the saturday scrimmage; Kyries Hebert had/sustained a concussion, also saturday.

Yesterday, Jerald Brown and S.J. Green collided and were out of practice after collision.-as per Herb- Jerald may have a concussion,as a result.

That's the last thing you want before even the pre-season starts. :frowning:

Would not be surprised if Troy Smith was held out of the first pre-season game.

I do agree and he should be joined by players such as:Josh Bourke, John Bowman,Chip Cox,Dave Stala, Brandon Whitaker,Larry Taylor and few other.

Richard

I also agree. You never want to throw away early regular season games by not being totally sharp, but IMO there are a few positions that are more important to see what else they have.

Didier Orméjuste ?@DidierRDS · 2m QB Troy Smith (knee) is questionable for Saturday's preseason game in Hamilton. #Alouettes #CFL

Oui.
