I like it. A two QB system. Just may work if used correctly.
And neither Strev nor Collaros arent selfish.
They are two guys that are just happy to be playing QB again successfully.
Each with different styles .
One a seasoned vet within recent years had major head injuries.
The other a brass yung monster who had no idea if he would ever play QB. Even in college
Just another very harsh reminder that games early in the season against clubs that appear to be “also rans” count just the same as any other game in the standings at season’s end.
Whoever starts I think Coach O’Shea should treat the opposition Defences to a generous dollop of the other at opportune moments to “take what they’re giving up”. Even switching QBs at random would keep the opposition Ds completely off-balance so that they wouldn’t be confident of being ready for any “tendencies” of the Bombers Offence.
Hey. Im with ya on that. There is a time to pound and there is a time to pass & a time to mix and match.
I think For Lapo now. That he got a Collaros game managing like Nichols. & a healthy and now MUCH more experienced in all situations.
Go for the gusto.
Two weeks to prep even better.
Im sure a QB Room with Nichols, Strev, Collaros, Pierce , and OC Lapo can really come up with someting out of the box unique.
Oh I forgot US Scout Danny McManus in that room.
Poor McGuire. As a true type rookie. He must think this is nuts. Lol.
Live listen and learn son.
Lol
And that’s the rub. While all of us here see the sense in switching QBs when needed, we have a coach who has proven time and time again that he won’t do it. He sticks with his starter no matter what. Maybe it is blind loyalty or maybe it is stupidity. I call it stubborn. There are a lot of losses on O’Shea alone.
Well hopefully he just turns the Offense over to Lapo & Buck.
& go for it!
If I’m the coach I start Collaros and sprinkle in heavy doses of Streveler. Much in the same manner as we did with Nichols but with more Streveler time. As said before it will certainly leave the opposition on edge. Streveler is a unique talent but has some major faults. Its up to the coaching staff to use those amazing talents and make his faults less consequential. This can still be THE year.
This sounds good too. It’s just like rotating Olinemen or Dlinemen.
The only way we get a home playoff date is if Cal loses next game BUT it also means we would have to go to the bassinet to play the riders at home in the final. We are in deep water but we can see the shore…
It’s doable !
I agree!
Yes. Agreed. A heavier Dose of Strevler than he had at the start of season.
Cold weather and Running the ball becomes important.
But
Agreed ya need an experienced passing
QB to start like Collaros
…Too bad we don’t control our own destiny for the post season…Games that should have been in the win column and were not, resulted in where we are today … Blowing big leads in Mont. and T.O. were our downfall …so here we are…Haven’t a clue who we should prepare for …both Cal. and Sask. will be tough…Where we play is still a question mark…Can the Leo’s go out a winner and do us big favour???..seems unlikely with Riley on the sidelines…BUT IF they can pull it off that would guarantee a home playoff with us entertaining the Stamps…Collaros should start and I would hope we can sprinkle in a healthy dose of Streveler if Zach starts…Still lot’s to be decided and with a rest and sound preparation we will give someone trouble…Here’s hopin’
Win the next 3 games and it won’t matter what happened earlier in the year!
Tough road though…
Well for one. The Lions have played Alot better obviously.
This is their playoff game at home against the Stamps.
With the Stamps coming from a loss in Winnipeg. And now goin all the way to the left coast.
The Lions arent resting anyone.
And watever they have left in their bag of tricks playbook. They mind as well pull it all out.
Makes them very dangerous for the stamps.
These things culd work for BC and pull it out or not work and Stamps cruise.
Oh indoors the weather & cold wont be an issue. The lacking Stamps rumning game wont be an issue as BLM is on Fire now.
Tough road yes.
But I agree if the Bombers can put all the issues behind them.
It is a brand new season.
Everyone is 0-0 heading to the playoffs.
& The Bombers still have a
Very good team. Balanced and all around.
I still feel Strev should start. Loyalty and the fact he has great numbers in the first half are just two reasons. He was there when we needed him and sacrificed his body. Now that pretty boy Zach is here I don’t think Strev should be going back to the way it was with Nicholls. Kinda insulting in my book.
I have no qualms about pulling him if he falters but O’Shea seldom does that and if Zach starts, Strev may never see the field much.
If Wash Nats can do it on road in baseball, so can Wpg!!
Actually weather may have alot to do with it.
I would still name Collaros as starter.
But Lapo will have to choose to which one plays depending on situations.
Certainly dont want strev to be in there if they get behind. If they get ahead. Than Strev may be get more PT. To grinde out the yards.
Uniques situation.
Any word on CS’s health?
He watched the last game in a walking boot, his lower back was clearly hurting and his right wrist was banged up.
Hopefully three weeks is enough time, if not?
I like our 3.
