Argos open talks with QB Mike McMahon
According to the Toronto Star, the Argos have opened talks with former Detroit Lions backup Mike McMahon and have placed J.T. O'Sullivan on their negotiation list.
With the future of quarterback Damon Allen still undecided and Michael Bishop's commitment to the Arena Football League, the Argos are looking at third-stringer Eric Crouch as their only quarterback under contract for next season.
McMahon was originally drafted by the Lions in 2001 and over the next four seasons he started all of seven games. After a one year stop in Philadelphia in 2005, he attended the Minnesota Vikings camp last summer but was among their final cuts.
O'Sullivan spent two seasons with the New Orleans Saints in 2002 before being traded to the Green Bay Packers, where he was dubbed Brett Favre's heir apparent. But after being released following the 2005 season, he spent most of this year on the practice roster of the New England Patriots. Late last month, he was signed to the Carolina Panthers practice roster.
