QB Index: Showing out in Week 1

The QB Index is a weekly power ranking of quarterbacks across the CFL. The ranking reflects recent performance, historical value, statistical indicators, team success and overall on-field evaluation.

Bethel won week 1 hands down. 8??

We all love Mike Reilly but you can't put a guy who can't throw a spiral at 3.

Who writes this stuff?

A guy by the name of 'Jason Halstead' writes this stuff. Can't blame him for ranking Bo number one right out of the chute. That's always the safest choice. But since none of these qb's had a preseason warmup, 'Rankings by Halfs' might've been more interesting (as a one time thing only). For example, in the 'First Half Rankings' Nathan Rourke was easily ranked the worst qb in professional football. Towards the end of the game he somehow morphed into a guy who gets to keep his job. I'd have moved him up in the 'Second Half Rankings' past Reilly and Nichols.

Bethel had a lot of vet receivers that made him look good. With only 1 game under their belts these rankings are premature and as the season goes on , consistent performance by the QBs will show the true leaders.
Ottawa and Toronto should swap uniforms this year. Ottawa's uniform is so much like the Stampeder's previous year's uniform and Toronto bought so many x-Stampeder's proficient vets.
