So, we’re standing by the CFL on CBC set, watching Calgary roll over Hamilton. I turn to Sean Millington and Greg Frers, asking, “Would you put Akili Smith into this game?? (Tom Higgins had yet to reveal Smith was injured and unavailable.)

Anyway, then someone asked if Charlie Taaffe should yank Jason Maas for Timmy Chang. The answer was a unanimous “No.? Why create a controversy, the guys said, when you’ve come out so strongly in favour of Maas? Give him the reps to get used to a new system. The day before, Maas talked about how much he enjoyed the new system, even though it required him to drop back in a way he had never done his whole career.

Chang told the FAN590 today that he didn't expect to play in the first game. He said he was at the other end of the sidelines when Taafe looking angry told him to get ready.

That was a good read. Maybe he should stick to writing because he's a moron on TV. Good article nonetheless.

At the end of the article it says "I found it interesting that Kent Austin...never went with Marcus Crandell even when Kerry Joseph had trouble moving the ball against Montreal.

"Austin named his guy and went with him. It's the best way to keep controversies at bay."

Obviously Mr. Friedman doesn't pay attention to ticats.ca! Our coaches have been sticking with their QBs for years and that only provoked controversies.
