6 RECEPTIONS, 105 YARDS AND 2 TD'S FOR ARLAND BRUCE, CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY WE DIDN'T EVEN ATTEMPT TO GET THIS GUY BACK? OH YEAH, KELLY'S EGO, AND ARLAND BRUCE HAD AN ATTITUDE PROBLEM. HMMM .... MAYBE IT'S CAUSE HE WANTED OUT OF THE "BIG STINK" THEY CALL TORONTO, THAT'S WHEN HE DEVELOPED AN ATTITUDE, CAUSE HE DIDN'T HAVE AN ATTITUDE PROBLEM WHEN HE WAS WEARING BLUE AND GOLD, AND IS VERY WELL LIKED DRESSED IN TI-CAT COLORS. PROOF THAT JUST BECAUSE A GUY HAS AN ATTITUDE IN ONE PLACE, DOESN'T MEAN HE'LL CARRY THAT ATTITUDE WITH HIM. WE COULD USE ANOTHER BIG GAME RECIEVER, SINCE WE ESSENTIALLY SENT ARMSTRONG PACKING FOR SPEAKING HIS MIND (WHICH WAS THE TRUTH, NO LESS).
That's okay, the fans in Hamilton are very much so appreciating his services
Was awesome, after the game they interviewed him on the tigervision the whole stadium roared BRUUUUUUUUUUUCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! You could see the smile on his face. I think he's enjoying being a movie star here lol.
Toronto wanted someting in return...
They did try to get him, he preferred to stay in the area. Do you think TO would trade him to their biggest rival just for schits and giggles ?
Also ask Bruce who gave him his best numbers up until now in his CFL career? He will tell you Michael Bishop, no I am not making it up, he said it himself in a interview in the last few weeks.
What I find real interesting is the parallel between Bruce playing the best he's ever played and being all business since joining the Ticats. That's all Andrus was asking of him. Weird how things work sometimes...
In the world of the SMS,you cant just take on a high priced salary anymore, unless your trading a big contract for the same in return,or you have cap space,I think some ppl forget about that or dont know about it.This teams SMS tag is more like $3.8m and not $4.2m
Why would your cap be lower than any other teams’ cap?
Bruce’s preference was Hamilton because of its proximity to Toronto, where Bruce lives with his family. He has 3 sons. So the Bombers probably didn’t have a shot at aquiring Bruce anyway.
But Kelly should have tried to aquire Bruce anyway. Bruce is the best receiver in the league, and he might have saved Winnipeg’s season singlehandedly.

I don't think Bruce really had any say in where he was traded to. He may have had preferences but the Argos were going to try to get the best deal possible regardless of what he wanted. His contract was the biggest problem for teams who were interested in acquiring him.

The cap really isnt lower for the BB,They are paying about $350-$400g's this year to players who no longer play on the team,Smith,Goodspeed,Dinwiddie and possibly Stegall and some others. And that money spent has to go against the cap for this year.Just some poor planning on there part that cost them.Add Doug Berry's contract in there and it only makes it worse. That's why I think this team will make no moves this year as far as coaching or management goes. They cant afford it.
