MOP:
E - Kevin Glenn, yeah AC was great but IMO he has more to work with
W - Paul McCallum may break Lui's field goal accuracy record!

Canadian:

E - Cahooooooooooon in a runaway
W - McCallum again

Defensive:

E - Phillip Hunt easily
W - Korey Banks, he did everything

Special Teams:

E - Chad Owens tho Thigpen wouldn't surprise me if he got picked
W - Yonus Davis, he gave us a lot of short fields

Rooke:

E - Marcus Thigpen by a long shot
W - Solomon Eliminian

O-Lineman

E - Marwan Hage
W - Ben Archibald

Thigpen has 1,000 fewer yards than Owens. Owens has been chosen ST player of the week six times, Thigpen once. How could it not be a massive surprise if Owens lost the East nomination to Thigpen?

if Boyd doesnt win MOP, then these awards are a joke, imo

ok so was Boyd More Outstanding than Calvillo?

or is Boyd more Valuable to his team than Calvillo?

I think Boyd is more valuable to his team than he is an Outstanding player over Calvillo or Glenn

but this isn't the MVP.. it's the MOP.

Anytime I've seen Thigpen play he has been great. Yeah he started slow, like everybody with the Ti-Cats, but things changed.

MOP - West - Henry Burris
East - Anthony Calvillo

Canadian - West - Andy Fantuz
East - Dave Stala

Defensive Player - West - Korey Banks
East - Phillip Hunt

Special Teams - West - Yonus Davis

East - Marcus Thigpen

O Lineman - West - Jeremy O'Day
East - Marwan Hage

Anytime I’ve seen Owens play he has been great, too.

As for Thigpen, he actually started fast, not slow – he scored on a kick return the first time he touched the ball in the CFL, and he was ST player of the week in Week 1. I don’t disagree he is good but is he as dominant on kick returns as Owens? Not even close, IMO.

And once again, Markeith Knowlton flies under the radar. He should easily be the East MODP. He is so underrated.

Knowlton's stats:
68 tackles
3 sacks
3 INTs
6 Fumble Recoveries
3 Forced Fumbles
2 blocked kicks (ok, that may count as ST, but still)

Now, if you look at each individual stat, you say 'ok, not bad'. But put them together, and you have a pretty complete defensive player. The thing about LBs, they don't rack up the sacks like a DL, and they don't rack up the INTs like a DB, so there's never really a stat that really jumps out like say, Phillip Hunt's sacks or James Patricks INTs. BTW, these stats are awfully similar to Chip Cox's stats. But perhaps the most impressive stat: he's only been penalized twice this year. I don't know why he doesn't get the recognition he deserves from the rest of the league. Perhaps if he started yippin' and yappin' instead of being a class act and just playing football, he would get recognized.

With all due respect to his competition for MODP, Knowlton should get it hands down. I'm not saying he will, but he should.

then your opinion isnt worth much.

just because the majority of voters dont agree with YOU, doesnt make the awards a joke. Have to be pretty arrogant to thinks otherwise.

FTR - Boyd wasnt even the best argo, IMO, so I guess if I use your reasoning, I can conclude the awards are already a joke.

Boyd wasnt the best RB either.

MOP
West: Henry Burris
East: Anthony Calvillo

As great as Cory Boyd's been, I don't think he's been as outstanding as Calvillo. People say he's having a bad year? HA! That's a joke. Best efficiency rating, most completions, highest accuracy, second most touchdowns and third highest passing yardage. Oh yeah, and he missed two and a half games. What a terrible year. I don't think anyone else is really getting a shot other than these two, save for maaaaaybe Boyd. Glenn's been hot this year as well, but not enough.

MOC
West: Andy Fantuz
East: Doug Brown

To be honest, I think the East candidate could be any of those four, but it won't matter, because Fantuz has been more outstanding than all of them. Cornish has been great as well, but I give the nod to Fantuz.

Defensive Player
West: James Patrick
East: Chip Cox

This only is VERY hard. Philip Hunt and Markeith Knowlton both deserve to be here as well. I just think Chip Cox has made the big plays when they really mattered most. He caused the fumble in the dying seconds of the BB game that sealed the Montreal win. He somehow outran CHAD OWENS to stop him from getting a return touchdown, which could have well been the hammer for that game. Montreal came back to win that game 37-30. He's a playmaker, and he makes them when it counts. I might be underrating James Patrick, and I apologize to anyone who believes I am. Don't get me wrong, he's a fantastic defensive player, and I think he should get the west nomination for sure, but I think an East player is winning this one.

Special Teams Player
West: Yonus Davis
East: Chad Owens

I don't even need to say anything. Chad Owens is brilliant.

Rookie
West: Solomon Elimimian
East: Marcus Thigpen

Terrific effort on defense. Thigpen started the year well, and seems to be ending it on a good note, too, but he had a good stretch where he was pretty unproductive. Although Thigpen has been more explosive, I think Elimimian's consistency will reign on this one.

O-Lineman
West: Ben Archibald
East: Marwan Hage

Tough call. I'm going with Hage, though. Although both are totally deserving this year of MO Offensive Linemen.

Agree. Owens should get the ST award, but I think Thigpen should get the rookie award. How many rookies set a league award in their first year?

im sorry, but Boyd has been the most dominant player game-in, game-out all season long.
calvillo has had a couple dud games ( 40-3 hamilton drubbing and august 14th against the argos ) comes to mind. plus he missed 2 game with injury...so thats 4 games of 18 where calvillo was a non-factor.

boyd missed 2 games and STILL leads the league in rushing yards.....thats DOMINANCE.

im not saying that boyd is better than calvillo. im just saying he's had a better and more consistant season than anyone else in 2010...again, IMO.

I think Boyd is more valuable to the Argo’s than Calvillo is to the Als, but the award isn’t Most Valuable Player, it’s Most Outstanding Player.

im aware what the award is for, and i still believe cory boyd is MOP.

Boyd had a couple games where he didn't do much of anything either you know..
