Predict regular season standings and playoffs

The pre-season is over and the final training camp cuts are being made. Time for some predictions for the regular season and playoffs. Remember there can only be a total of 81 regular season wins among all 9 teams, unless of course you pick ties in which case there will be less!

West Division

BC 13 - 5
Calgary 12 - 6
Winnipeg 10 - 8
Edmonton 7- 11
Saskatchewan 6 - 12

East Division

Montreal 10 - 8
Ottawa 9 - 9
Hamilton 8 - 10
Toronto 6 - 12

Division Semi - Finals

Ottawa over Hamilton
Winnipeg over Calgary

Division Finals

Ottawa over Montreal
BC over Winnipeg

Grey Cup

BC over Ottawa

The Last Word

This is probably the most difficult season I can ever remember trying to predict. I'm not sure who the pushover will be in each division.

With that said:

Montreal
Ottawa
Toronto
Hamilton

Calgary
Winnipeg
Edmonton
BC
Saskatchewan

I'll go, Ottawa over Winnipeg for the Grey Cup.

I'm assuming Zach Collaros will be injured and Hamilton's season lost. If he's healthy for the duration, they could win it all.

Yup

ZC is the key and I agree. Hamilton could easily be either Grey Cup Champions or finish last.

^^ This looks right. ^^

  • The East is a bit of a crapshoot but I don't expect Ottawa to finish 1st - they will take a step back, after winning it all, and have a slow start.

  • Hamilton will blunder their way to a 9-9 record, give or take a win/loss.

  • Toronto will finish last.

  • That leaves Montreal for first.

  • In the West, BC always seems to fly under the radar and outperform.

  • Calgary could run away with it all. If I was going to make a change, I would swap BC and Calgary.

  • Edmonton and Winnipeg could go any which way.

  • The SRR, in their new stadium, might surprise to the upside and make the playoffs.

Standings don't work, they have to be even amount of wins and losses

I think the Riders will surprise some in 2017. I do believe they can get 3rd in the west.

It's Edmonton and Winnipeg I'm not sold on by any means

True.

The stadium will add to their momentum. I expect some unexpected early season wins. 3rd is doable.

I think his numbers are okay - 81 wins / 81 losses.

I will not give numbers , no point in that.

Just the positions.

1 BC LIONS
2 STAMPS
3 ESKIMOS
4 BOMBERS

1 TI-CATS
2 REDBLACKS
3 ARGOS
4 ALARKS

WEST
STAMPS OVER ESKIMOS
EAST
BOMBERS OVER REDBLACKS

WEST
LIONS OVER STAMPS
EAST
TI-CATS OVER BOMBERS

GREY CUP
TI-CATS OVER LIONS

Did the SRR take 2017 off?

BC
Sask
Calgary
Edmonton
Winnipeg

Hamilton
Ottawa
Toronto
Montreal

There are 8 teams that could make the play-offs. Riders are not one of them.

I made my list based on IMO standings including cross over.

Argos should be a good team but Ray is a big Q.

There is a huge transition in Montreal, but they might surprise people.

I feel the Bombers, Argos and Als will race for 3rd place in the East.

I thought there was no point in mentioning the Riders.

BC
Calgary
Edmonton
Winnipeg
Sask Still no QB

Hamilton
Ottawa
Toronto
Montreal will improve

BC beats on Hamilton for Win
Let the Parade begin !!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers :rockin: :cowboy:

This one gets my vote for post of the year.  ;D

A lot of these speculations are pretty funny, with the benefit of hindsight.

The best part of making predictions is revisiting them at the end of the season to see how far off base they were.

THAT, I agree.

I cringed at opening this thread up today.

I knew TALEBACK or PREISST would hammer me.

here is some playoff predictions.

Sask wins the east
Edmonton wins the west.

Sask beats ED in the cup.

most likely GC matches

ed - sask
cal - sask
ed - tor
cal - tor

wpg, zero chance. Ott not much more.
