Porter could be headed to??

With the recent release of Quinton Porter by the Als and speculation of his next stop in the CFL, Bombers Head Coach Tim Burke said he is not interested at this time but Sask might be to back up Darien Durant and with ex-Ti-Cat coach George Cortez as the Offensive Co-Ordinator in Regina?

It's a shame he never panned out as a starter. Great size, nice speed, strong arm....just doesn't have the awareness of a high caliber QB

Oh yeah, I can see how Burke is in quite the position to turn down an opportunity to acquire a quarterback who can actually complete a pass and generate some offense.....NOT!!!! By the way, will Buck Pierce be playing this year with or without the FRAGILE stickers on his uniform???

Not sure if Porter wants to team up with Cortez again after the way he was ignored by the same man last season...but it is employment...injuries can happen... and after all Darian Durant is the starter there...

Last I heard......he was going to become the next Anthony Calvillo and come back to "haunt" us.

Tim Burke and Joe Mack couldn't organize a one car parade let alone a game plan.

And then of course is our good friend Casey Creehan.

From what I remember from last year, Cortez had no interest in playing him when he had him on his roster. Why would he suddenly want him now?

You could fill out a roster with cuts who were supposed to "haunt" us. Deandre Cobb anyone ?

8) Stevie Baggs could also be added to that long list !!!

Edmonton I believe needs some help at QB. Perhaps they will sign him?

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooo Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

The jury is pretty much in on that, eh MP? :stuck_out_tongue:

Oski Wee Wee,

8) I think the biggest joke of Porter being released, was that when Jim Popp signed him, he gave him a $35,000 signing
bonus !!! Gotta be one of the few times Popp has been fleeced in a free agent signing !!

I sure didn't see many other CFL teams rushing to sign Porter, so why give him that sweet deal ??? <!-- s:roll: --><!-- s:roll: -->

Obviously Cavillio didn't think much of Porter, in regards to mentoring him to eventually take over the reigns from him
down the road once AC had retired.

Unreal is the fact that Porter has all the physical tools to play QB, but he still can't read defences, which will be his
downfall as far as ever being a starting QB anywhere !!

This. Indeed Tip!

Oski Wee Wee,

Arena ball may be his only option now.

Maybe he showed "poise"...but little else...

After 5 seasons in Hamilton as a back-up and not making it through training camp in Montreal, it will be interesting to see if he lands anywhere in the CFL

Jim still likes Quinton and Trestman did too. So we signed him prior to the hiring of this new OC and he clearly didn't like him so these things happen. I'm not happy about the cut. Now we wait to see if this coaching staff knows what the hell they are doing ???

I'd watch him play there.

Watch Jason Boltus play the other day.

Did Boltus take over from the incumbent Grady?

A shame Jason did not stick with the Cats as his name would have looked great on the back of a TC jersey. :cowboy:
