Tough call.

The bottom two from last year–Elks and Redblacks–seem improved on paper.

The Stamps looked awful against BC, but I can’t imagine them going on a prolonged losing streak with Carey in the backfield.

I picked the Ticats. Their big addition this offseason is the guy that Calgary’s Maier beat out. And Maier looked awful. OTOH, the Cats did play probably the best team in the league.

We’ll see. I’m hoping for more parity across the league this year.

stamps are playing the deadblacks this weekend but i still expect both teams to lose somehow - they looked that bad in week one. i’ll go with the ti-cats because it’s fun to do so.

Elks and Ottawa will battle for next year’s 1st round draft pick and then it likely won’t do them much good. Redblacks have the advantage unless Masoli has a miracle recovery. Unfortunately his career looks unlikely to continue or limp along.

I’d say the Elks due to their “guru USA high school coach/GM” Jones he was ok as a DC maybe but as HC and GM he’s high school at best
Just not using Tre Ford who was their only winning QB last year he shows his American bias. Best CFL coaches seem to be ex Canadian linebackers like O’Shea and Buono

I hope the Redblacks win this one . . . and then the Elks win the return match in Edmonton later this summer. Both teams need some home wins.

Both struggling to find a QB and it’s hard to pick.
Tyrie Adams looks like a scrambler and looked pretty good in pre-season, I thought he looked better than Arbuckle.
I will take Ottawa in this game.

I picked Edmonton because they looked great in the first half and then at the end against Toronto. They also have a great punt returner who can be a game changer.

If they can capitalize on that potential is yet to be seen. I haven’t seen Ottawa yet this year to form an opinion.

Elks to be O / 5 until a home game with Ti cats. Statistical, highly unlikely to lose 6 straight, maybe. Ti cats’ qb are as good as the Elks??
