The only thing I would like to suggest is to make the dinner more affordable.
the price of the dinner is normally around $30. or $35 a person
Pat Cat, for the walk of fame only members of the Cats Claws can actually vote on a particular player and 5 nominations have already selected, so why the broad poll?
anyone can vote for any of the 5 nominations and the 1 with the most votes will be placed on the wall and a dinner in his honour
1tccat are you on the Cat's Claws execuative, if not then your wrong on this one I'm sure. I'm sure that only the Cat's Claws members have a vote. Could someone one the Cats Claws please address this question?

pat cat - PLEASE read my question. There is a differance between a vote and a poll. I am asking why conduct a poll when the president of the Cats Claws Club, Carol Rose informed me that only club members have a vote therefore a poll will not have any bearing on who goes on the wall.
if the cat's claws decide who is nominated, and then choose the "winner/inductee" then it is a closed club, and there is no need to post it on the website - if the voting is open, then the nominations should be as well......
selective choices (not that I disagree with any of them) but how does one get to see someone like Steve Stapler get on the nominee list?
very biased, he is probably (along w/ Grover) my favourite cat of all time, but just a question........
Does anybody think the Cats Claws have maybe changed the way the voting works to get a wider scope of voters?
They fund totaly the walk of Fame so I'd suggest it's their option to do so without informing every due paying member or making a public statement.
You've got a chance to have a say in who goes on the wall so why not quit with the questioning and second guessing and just place a vote?

most of the choices are decided on availablity on the players being able to attend the dinner as the fan club can not afford to fund their transportation and accomodation. many of the players that we would like to nominate cant be found. dont think many people would buy tickets to a dinner to honour a player who isnt there. if you would like to nominate a player you can do it here and i will bring the list to our next meeting as i am a member or you can pm patcat with your choices
I'll try to keep this simple, do non members of the Cats Claws Club have voting privleges in determing who will be selected on the Walk of Fame, yes or no?

The fan club has always picked the players.
All fans have always been able to vote.
If this is a problem with some of you join the club and we can talk about it for next year.

Ok, to the topic of this little mis-understanding.
I think it's totally up to the 'Cats Claws' how they determine who gets the award each year because it was started by them and has always been their baby...
If they had wrestled it away from the team and changed long standing procedures, then I could see some reason for questioning it....but that's not the case as I understand.
This poll is an opportunity to sway some of their votes as I see it....so in effect we are getting some say anyhow.
I've always admired this group and especially Carol and Pat for their dedication to the greatest team on earth!.....and their fundraising for charities...
