Playoff vs Calgary

I was with you at least as a possibility, though I am picking the Lions because we have no real running threat now, until you wrote “easy.”

NFW will a win be easy for our Eskies at BC.

Seriously, your name has to be ironic. It HAS to be.

Seriously, why the negativity?

I’m sorry, I’ll try to be more upbeat when the offence sucks. "I’m thrilled the offence disappeared in the second half again.   "

Like I said, the defence was solid. The offence, not so much.

Hey, no problem suggesting the the offense needs to carry its weight, it's the B.C. will kick our, that I refer to. Wouldn't be better to say, "if the offense doesn't smarten up, B.C. will kick our....."

Maybe I look through the world with rose coloured glasses but I happen to think, we are going to kick B.C.'s.....

I live with negativity about sports regularly, living in Calgary. I always considered Edmonton to be more of a glass half full city.

Maybe???

I’ll say this, if Hamilton can beat Montreal, then Edmonton can certainly beat BC. However, if I had to pick the winner, I’d take BC. The Lions seem to have our number this year, injuries or not.

Maybe that wily Chief is working the reverse jinx again? Shhhhhhhhh!

Seriously though, with not much of a running threat without Messam or with an injured Messam, I am selecting BC though of course my heart is with the Eskies to prove me wrong.

Ye of little faith, write it down. The Eskimos will win, Lulay will not finish the game and not due to injury. Like Tate, Lulay will choke on the big one.

The difference between Lulay and Tate is that Lulay already has a small amount of playoff experience where Lulay had an unreal game last year and almost single handedly won the game for the Lions and Sask. I personally wouldn’t be putting money on Lulay choking. Not saying it won’t happen, but I don’t think it will.

The pressure on him and the Lions this year is huge with the potential for a home Grey Cup, the game in B.C., the stories of Buono coached teams not playing up to expectations in play-offs. If the Esks D gets pressure on him, I believe he will not have a good day. All the pressure is on the Lions, unlike last year. If the Eskimos can get off to a fast start, that pressure will multiply. I believe that the blow-out of Montreal will give the Lions a false sense of security and that will be their downfall. The Lions have been the bullies of the last half of the season and like with most bullies, you get the first shot in and they fold like a cheap tent.

Speculating on BC choking is risky. In latest 10 games, BC has proven to be the most consistent team in winning key games to secure first place in west division. Ricky Ray is more likely to be pressured than Lulay because Edmonton is worst in sacks allowed. But BC is best in fewest sacks allowed and #2 in most sacks.

I think Voice is hoping and praying that BC chokes. He's hoping for a mental jinx or something. :stuck_out_tongue:

Most times players "choke" it is because the other team has come up with a plan or elevated their game to a higher level. I fully expect the Eskimos to win on Sunday because they have come up with a plan to beat the Lions. If in fact the Eskies do win, most pundits will hang goat horns on Lulay, deserved or not. That is what you live with when you are the heavy favourite.

Do I think Lulay will choke? No of course not, I do though expect the Eskimos to win and B.C. fans and media will point fingers at Lulay. Unfortunately for Lulay, when a team is the heavy favourite and loses, the quarterback usually gets the blame and often not deservedly so. Who can forget Ryan Dinwiddie in the Grey Cup.

Fortunately, Geroy Simon has way too much class to put the goat horns on his own Qb. Ryan didn't get that consideration.

I think with Howard Peach Williams Davis and Sherritt in thew game Lulay will have little time to find a receiver. I expect a lot of Running and Check down routes with a liberal helping of Interceptions. Esks by 7
