Being a resident of Etobicoke I wanted to pass on this.
If you are coming to Sunday's game in Toronto I highly recommend taking rail transportation into the city. GO Train or TTC is the way to go!
The Toronto Santa Claus Parade is on Sunday and the route comes very close to the Rogers Centre.
This means road closures, full parking lots and Santa groupies and kiddles EVERYWHERE.
Either take the GO train or come into Toronto and get on the Kipling Subway at Kipling Station.
I believe parking is free and it will save you the hassle of downtown congestion.
Below are directions for either GO or TTC.
Here is the Google.ca map link for to catch the GO out of Hamilton:
If you are driving into T.O. and taking the TTC from Kipling it's simple to get to Rogers Centre.
First: get to Kipling Station
Kipling TTC Station
98 St Albans Rd, Toronto, ON M9B ? toronto.on.ca
Take it to St. George Station:
Depart the train, go upstairs and take the University line South to Union.
Rogers Centre is just a short walk west from Union.
Here is the Google.ca map link for Kipling Station to Union.
HOWEVER , we are all CFL fans and I live in , Toronto. WE are taking the GO TRAIN from Scrab. , Toronto.
TAKING THE GO TRAIN and or leaving very early is GREAT , EXCELLENT advice.
I want my Hamilton / CFL brothers & sisters to have a great time.
p.s. Some one [Captain Kirk] wrote that on Sunday there is a discount on GO TRAIN prices. Say that you are going to the parade.
500 LEVEL seats are opened at 10 AM today.
As mentioned before as well. If you bought your tickets and are picking them up at WILL CALL , get them early as well to avoid long lines ups at the R.C.
Can’t blame Ford for that one. The Santa Claus parade has been held on Sundays in Toronto for at least 40 years. A number of the bigger parades or anything else that is going to involve road closures (like marathons) and draw hundreds of thousands of people are usually held on Sundays in Toronto. (less traffic and fewer businesses are impacted with Sunday road closures).
The Santa Claus Parade, the Pride Parade, St Paddy’s Day parade, both marathons etc. are always held on Sundays in Toronto. The only big one I can think of held on a Saturday is Caribana and that is on the Saturday of a long weekend.
It's a game that has been 27 years in the making and the excitement has been palpable. The 2013 Eastern Final scheduled for this Sunday, November 17 at 1:00 p.m. ET at Rogers Centre , will be an historic rivalry between the oldest professional sports team in North America, the Toronto Argonauts, and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Please note for those picking up tickets at Gate 9 Will Call, please come early as long lineups are expected. In addition, for those who have "print at home" tickets, please print them on paper as they cannot be scanned on your mobile device.
Fans should plan to arrive downtown early to be part of the Desjardins Insurance Tailgate Party beginning at 11:00 a.m., outside Gate 11. Due to numerous road closures around the city, please allow for more travel time than usual. As a result of expected weather conditions, the roof of Rogers Centre will be closed for this game.
See below for a list of the road closures occurring tomorrow:

I just want to say that I think a lot of the concerns were overblown. Traffic in wasn't too bad, it was slow on the Gardiner due to a blocked lane that quickly cleared and there was long lineup to exit on to Spadina, but in all it was only 30 minute delay in total. The biggest delay was leaving the Skydome parking garage were we sat, motionless for a good 45 minutes before we started moving, then it took only 15 minutes to wind my way out of the garage and after that traffic was pretty good.
Great to see such a large turn out!
Thanks to those who took the rails. It made it easier for those who didn't.
Just goes to show we could do that for every Roger's Centre Ticat/Argo game!
The crowd looked awesome with Double Blue on one side and Black and Gold on the other!
Awesome atmosphere!
Great to see everyone work together and get the word out.
