Allen's fumble was a reviewable call, once again the refs blew it. I know they can't give the ball to the other team on a fumble because the whistle blew, but they can review it to see if it was a fumble to spot the ball where he fumbled.
little more details please!
Was it not challenged or did the refs say it was not challengable?
Drexl what is it with you and ref's calls. this is what your second stab at the ref's just maybe you should try being one and see the benefits and enjoy the fans never agreeing with you! So I take it you are perfect! You do not make mistakes or maybe it was not a mistake but a judgement call.
Yeah the refs said it was not challengable.
I didn't see the game (blacked out in the US unless you have DISH), but was there enough evidence to overturn the call? if the answer is no, then it was the right call.
and if TO won, and they shut out the Cats, what's one bad call? I good team can work though it, like (bad example) the Miami Sharks getting the winning TD in Any Given Sunday, they "scored" with like 10 secs left, but that was recalled becase of a holding call, but they worked though it, and in the end scored the winning TD with no time left.
drex just said it was rulled not challengable
Yep....bad example.....lol
from the handbook
I didnt see the play but this seems to cover it
A.R. QB pass or fumble, Referee rules incomplete pass
Second and 10 on A25. QB is hit while attempting to throw a forward pass. The ball hits the ground at the A20 and B recovers. The Referee rules incomplete pass. Replays show that it was a fumble.
RULING NOT Reviewable play. Official’s whistle terminated play.
And why do you get so worked up and defensive every time I critisize them?
They’re refs in a pro football league and they’re acting like this is some beer league they’re in. Just like they pick and chose when they call helmet to helmet hits on a q.b.
It would have been overturned, because even if Allen’s arm was in the throwing motion, he still threw the ball behind him.
drex
I assume you didn't see my post that came 1 minute before you did.
The play is not reviewable!
That is on the recovery of the fumble, can’t they review it to see that it was a fumble to give them the spot where the fumble occured? I’ve seen it done many times in the nfl.
Well this is not the NFL now is it?
Which if he thew it and it hit the ground, that’s a dead ball!
Reality, yes, bad example, concept, no.
But KK, hitting the ground or not, the real question is : can you review the play if the QB threw up?
If the refs rule that hte QB was going through a throwing motion before the ball was knocked out then it is not reviewable. Also refs in every league make mistakes. Do you really think the nfl refs are perfect?
in the huddle, no, during the game, likely, but that’s just sick.
getting back to the topic, I say that you can review the play to see if the QB arm was in a forward motion, if it is, pass incomplete, if it wasn’t, fumble and the team that had the procession last (regardless of the refs stopping the play, players have been know to go for the ball away) gets the ball.
I believe that’s how the rule is now.
Whose replay system is the cfl using? It’s identical to the nfl’s, it’s a carbon copy, the only diference, our ref’s don’t know what they’re doing.
