PGA Tour vs LIV Golf

Meeting upcoming at the white house, although it is unclear whether the fuhrer will be personally involved. This doesn’t need to be another thing he sticks his sticky fingers into so let’s hope not.

This week’s rundown in golf including an update and views on the LIV/PGA talks:

Rory’s views not as optimistic as they were recently:

And Freddie Couples thinks Koepka wants to return to the PGA Tour. I have my doubts. Why would he? Much as I always liked Couples he has been a constant ass with regard to his views on LIV.

High level talks including the president? No way that can go off the rails.

Any more I have to wonder what train track we are on for the day, including also for that “Crazy Train.”

Ozzy is probably going to be cashing in this year from yet another round of that song in pop culture.

No major news, but some more confirmation that most of the players don’t seem to know much abouit what is going on with the seemingly endless talks between the two tours, as per Justin Thomas. I take Justin’s whining about this being tiring considering how much he has financially benefitted from LIV coming into being, something he acknowledges in part at least, with a grain of salt.

Wow, come June, we’ll be already on two years since the merger was announced, but for some reason it feels longer.

I hope they simply get this done here in 2025 and preferably by July, or I think after this much time, caution will end up being thrown to the wind much as for many business deals that simply drag on too long and simply die a slow death.

As just stated on the golf thread, I can’t wait until we can see best on best again.

As I suspected, Koepka clarifies that Freddie Couples was spreading fake news about him returning to the PGA Tour. There are enough problems between the tours without someone artificially fanning the flames. I used to love you Freddie, but suggest you return to the “where are they now” file.

Freddy is basically the “White Tiger Woods” but without the major titles.

Always loved his swing and his attitude. After Watson and before Phil came along Freddie was my favourite player for a number of years. Like him I don’t wear a golf glove or spiked shoes or even socks most of the time. Like he says, it feels more comfortable to me and it keeps my feet more grounded, unless it is wet.

He was poetry in motion and always was very laid back. I don’t consider his mouth to be poetry in motion at present, needlessly taking an extreme side on an issue that doesn’t affect him personally and spreading fake news in an attempt to escalate a dispute that needs resolution, not escalation.
