Well Burke announced Buck will be mentoring, buck apparently after practice said he wasn't told or talked to about mentoring, obviously not happy.
Other moves - David James, a DB cut in camp was brought back today to the PR.
Burke has finally stepped up as a head coach and has officially put an end to the agony of Buck Pierce playing QB anyone of the QBs on any CFL roster can play as well as he can and have a chance to get better. Buck is bad now real bad and he will only get worse.
Kudos go to Burke for one shutting hefney up and releasing him and two finally putting CFL fans in general past the agony and the annoying talk about Buck Pierce and his health blah blah blah.
He has given both Canadian Receivers Etienne and Kohlert a chance to win a job and it has paid off.
1,000 yard receiver Mathews was unable to get the ball with Pierce as QB and his frustration showed.
Much like Drew Willy did when he started he went to a top receiver and guess what it worked. Goltz will not only look for Mathews for big plays and clutch situation but continue his chmeistry that he Etienne and Kohlert had last season in running scout teams together.
Look for Jovon Johnson to be released soon, unless they can manage to wrangle a draft pick out of some team, which is doubtful. Hopefully, the building for next season has started and there can actually be a reason to feel optimistic about the future. Now, if we could only sign Dan Hawkins to coach....... 
yup i have seen receivers get behind him. As both Mrkieth Knowleton and brandon Issac have found out there are a lot of hungry young import DBs out there looking for jobs. Hamilton brought one back from training campp and siigned another NFL free agent in Rico Murray. Toronto best find was injured and still Jones has come upon several others. Jordon younger saw the writing on the wall and retired before camp. Black has been nothing short of great at safety and the kid from the calgary colts is an awesome Gunner and will be pushing black for a starting safety spot in a year or two
To Burkes credit he has bought in a couple it is ashame that Dunn was injured but last years first year Demond washington has played his way into a starting job and another younge Johnny Sears hungry to start asked for a shot at SAm LB injuries have hurt Winnipeg in that respect
There is some truth and talk about Lyle Bauer perhaps getting a phone call - even as a consultant would help things.
Penton of the Sun wrote that Bauer wants to get back in the CFL and his preferred destination is Winnipeg - doesn’t mean the Bombers are interested. Personally I think he burned his bridges with the team after the Kelly fiasco.
That would be just sad.
