Pederson saying Riders firing offensive staff

I should’ve listened to the original rumour last week! The latest I’ve heard is the entire offensive staff of the @sskroughriders is being fired. 🍉 #CFL

Heard this this morning too as a rumor

Yeah nothing official yet. Just a Pederson tweet. It would be a start... ODay needs to go. If the team breaks the coaching cap, just pay the damn fine. Totally worth it.

with the CFL absolutely needing quality on the field but not allowing a team to fire bad coaches is counterproductive and does make the entire CFL look stupid and far from professional and withy of fan support

Oh yeah, who ever brought in this coaches cap should go to. What a complete failure on the cfl to bring in such a backward rule, coaching cap , thumbs down.

Now official
Dicks and ODay got rid of enough to save their own skin.

Operations Cap affect. I think the only one let go that may be still under contract for next year was Maas. Dickenson and ODay are both signed for one more year.

Coaches will start getting 1 year contacts with the cap in place, that’s the only way a team can get away from being stung by it.

I wonder how long before coaches start getting front- loaded contracts with signing bonuses like players do.

Positional coaches should be like what the CFL has for veterans... no guaranteed contract until you have x number of years in the league.

do not understand why the coaches get the deal they get but players routinely get hosed on long term contracts with big $$ in the final year of multiyear contacts and usually get cut a few hours before bonus $$ is due to be paid...and folks wonder why the players union is always looking to improve this.
Or good players always asked to take pay cuts so other players can be signed...
This is one reason why the cfl suffers, there just is not enough $$$ and interest to go around. The reality is if it profitable to own a team and make it good there would already be 10 or 12 teams, or more in the cfl. It also would be that they would not be begging or scrounging for owners. or having the league make rules about salary caps that are counterproductive to making the cfl better

Thus there should be more community owned teams, if that’s what it takes.
