Feel free to give me the old “who cares it has nothing to do with the game” but has this organization fallen to new lows or what?
Not only is the website not updated with rosters, depth charts, signings, etc as has been very well documented here lately, but what the hell is with the social media team last night?
First, they post a Bo Levi Mitchell sack and inadvertently celebrate it.
I don’t get on the Bob Young thing very often but one thing he brought was a level of professionalism that in my opinion was best in class.
We’ve fallen behind other teams with content, social media, website, ticket staff professionalism, season ticket holder appreciation, etc. don’t get me going on league stats.
Don’t rest on your laurels Ticats, the stands won’t always be full. The business office can’t score touchdowns but they can get the little things right.
That is … absolutely not what you want your SM to be doing. And pretty egregious frankly. Looks like someone was out on a Friday night and tried to do their job after having had a few drinks…
I am with you. I am very disappointed with the stats available.
I use the Score app for all sports and it is great for up to the minute real time stats except for the CFL.
It shows Winterpeg was credited with zero sacks last night and Oliveira is not listed for rushing, receiving but did have one tackle.
Yes they need to work on a few things. I am positive some of the live in game stuff would be handled by a summer intern. I do know that this organization takes anything and everything to do with digital and social access very seriously. I will bet you will see an improvement simply by reading this thread. They do monitor this board.
But my post is more that we need to really take a step back. Anyone who questions the media presence of the Ticats is delusional. We are second to none…
All day long, 7 days a week, they are adding content. You cannot ask for a better job than what Bob Young’s team does. From game say stuff to pre game to in game to post game, they provide content. Shows throughout the week, etc etc.
No team in the CFL comes close. Okay they post the wrong score. It might be the only way we win an actual game
Crash - I just re-read your post? How in the world can you say we have fallen behind other teams? I listened to the Winnipeg radio guys who were actually saying they LOVE playing the TiCats because they have the BEST content of any CFL team. They were saying they don’t need to prepare as much because everything they need to know about the Ticats is found on our site and through the Ticats Audio Network.
Try finding any decent info on the Blue Bombers. There is another post documenting that even the Bombers Depth chart is non existent. The Cats website shows every depth chart they have used for all 11 games.
Everyone should be very careful what you wish for. Bob Young bales and we are in trouble. Go back to pre-Young days and it will help you remember how often the Tiger-Cats were close to bankruptcy
The depth charts come out late, sometimes don’t get posted until after (or during) the game, and for the entire offseason all of the 2023 depth charts went to dead links that didn’t work. (I tried to download them multiple times for my records). When I reached out to the Ticats office I didn’t get a response.
They don’t update the website in a timely manner for signings, there’s been players not accounted for on any list, etc.
And respectfully the “be happy with what you got” attitude isn’t good enough for me.
And I don’t blame Bob Young, he’s not in charge anymore. If he was it would probably be better. That’s my entire point.
Up until this season you could go back 10 seasons and look at depth charts from 2014 up until present but not anymore . For a guy like me who is a history and stats guy that is not acceptable and very unprofessional .
I doubt the content creation and social media are all done by the same person, but to me it seems like some of the people in that office are doing their jobs and others are grossly inadequate.
Hence the mixed bag of quality on that website. Kind of like the team on the field.
While, no question, there have been, and are, issues with the TiCats’ website, they’re pretty much just a lack of attention to detail. On the positive, I have to applaud the site’s audio content, to which I don’t believe any other team comes close and, as I’ve said before, the club’s best signing, for '24, was Steve Milton.
This is fair, but keep in mind some other teams are still on traditional radio, whereas after the TSN sports closure they took it all in house. Winnipeg and Sask come to mind specifically, Sask has a ton of traditional radio shows throughout the week.
