ONTO THE ARGOS

So the Blew team has learned that they can shove our DBs down without a worry of a flag, meaning our D will be in tough again.

But how do we put points on the board? Butler has hands made of wet paper and BLM is either 5 yards under or 5 yards over his targets (that were often WIDE OPEN).

I really hope week 1 was a wake up call for the Cats. Even when you don’t get the call or the bounces… great team know how to win! I have the feeling that Toronto is going to punch us in the face next week. I sure hope we respond better and faster than we did tonight.

I think the plan is special teams and defence.
In the ‘peg, STs scored 11 pts. and missed another 6, on Sopik’s fumble return, by just 2 yds. And, the D got a TD, too. So, together, they accounted for more than half the TiCats’ points, and were just shy of scoring 23 of the team’s 31.

TO may be the GC Champs but they are not as good as the BBs and have had more roster turnover than the BBs as well. Kelly is an unproven commodity as are his backups.
I’m sure the Ticats will be better this week. I doubt even TO would have beaten the BBs last week - IG field is a tough place to play.

The obvious game plan when facing a QB making his second career start would be to apply maximum pressure.

Is that so obvious that we will try to fool them by doing something else?

This time it’s a different style of QB, Kelly can run and scramble.

How do you know that?
He hasn’t really played yet!

Team better come out on fire against the Argos.

Had better.

He doesn’t know that at all , save for one specific run last year that happened to be in the Grey Cup game .
It doesn’t really matter that he hasn’t played yet Grover , what does matter though is apparently who is uncle is .

Thank goodness Kelly is not Collaros and Toronto is not Winnipeg. Should be a Hamilton win.

Correct you have to favor Kelly because of his uncle, it’s in his genes.

Serious question, if you’re going by the gene/DNA theory - what football background does Chad’s actual father have?

Well he was apparently a Supermarket manager so there’s that I suppose . You never know it might just work out for Chad if this football thing doesn’t . At worst he might end up having a fallback job stocking shelves at the local Tops if this gene theory has any merit . :shopping_cart:

With the exception of maybe food poisoning tearing through the roster its extremely difficult envisioning a scenario where a HAM defeat is in any way acceptable or spin-able.

Topps? more like the local Piggley Wiggley.
I’m surprised that the Argos didn’t trade for a veteran QB, the coaches must have a lot of confidence in him.

Could be a big crowd, a lot of interest in Kellys nephew in Toronto

Actually for what it’s worth his dad actually worked at Wegmans not at Tops . As for a big crowd it’s a real possibility considering that the Cats fans will be as usual busing and taking the train in droves to BMO for our unofficial home opener of the season .

Feels like a stretch to suggest there is a meaningful number of Toronto fans on the fence after a Grey Cup win, who will decide to buy tickets on the basis of the nephew of a Buffalo Bills QB from 25+ years ago.

Apparently the free rings went from first 15,000 to first 10,000.

I’m assuming thats not to ring production shortages but rather fan shortages…

Kind of unfair, the Ticats get all of these extra home games every year.

He was being sarcastic again

I was really responding to your comment. If that was sarcasm too, I admit I missed it.
