Only 30,185! What's that about?

No question the NFL is feeling the pinch of the economy as well and also more people with home entertainment TV's.

The reason for this low attendance is simple: people believe BC will win the Grey Cup (they will). There is no sense seeing a division semi final that means nothing. Let us fast forward this thing and start anew in 2012. BC will win it all in 2011.

If that’s all you have to gloat about, how many did the Riders draw for their playoff date. Guess that really sucks.

If your such a big CFL fan why weren’t you there?

Prices are just too high for this economy. Why would I want to go to a game ($80 for two tickets after fees and taxes, more if you want decent seats) so I can massively overpay for beer & food, when I can sit at home for the grand cost of $0? Plus at home I can cook whatever I want, drink whatever I want, pause the game, start watching it an hour late and fast forward through all the stoppages in play...

The cost of going to a game is also the cost of a weeks groceries. It's not a tough call which one people are going to choose.

Hard not to argue with Tridus if you a regular person out there like most trying to make ends meet and only so much money for recreation/entertainment options.

Oh Contraire…

I was there. Section L row 13. I bought my tickets the day they clinched a home game.

I brought my friend along, she’s a big Esks fan. Got a picture of her with Punter the mascot, caught a ball for her… we stayed warm and watched a decent game.

and I believe last year’s Western Semi-Final in Saskatchewan VOR was sold out!!

The economy, other events I’ll give you. However, this ^ is a lame excuse. Even if the game was just a formality, I’d still go. Sadly, I live several provinces away.

He didn’t still have the horse, did he? :o

Last years Western Semi-Final game in Regina did not sell out, only 29,215. Not sure what happened, only game of the year not to sell out IIRC. I remember driving through Regina on game day and had a chance to go to the game, but figured it would have been really late by the time I got out of there and driving at night with bad roads is not fun.

Yep. Not counting the temp seats, one could say it was a sellout, but the temp seats are there and were there to be sold so, no, not a sellout. And that just a year after Rider fans giving the raz to Bomber fans for not selling out their play-off game. We ought to be humbled.

Thats awesome CFL, not sure why they didn’t sell out, maybe it was too cold. Living here on the wet coast I would really have to push myself to sit in that kind of weather when a nice warm couch and cold beers were just arm reach away.

I was in Section L Row 47, kind of neat cause we were able to get our old seasons ticket seats from the late 70’s early 80’s. Great seats, only one row in front of us and on the aisle, I like to be up a little higher, plus having the second tier gives you a great view. I have seats at mid field in Calgary row 22 but I prefer the Commonwealth seats. Plus being a bowl you get to walk around the stadium at half time and catch up with old friends. The horse shoe in Calgary doesn’t offer you that option.
