One last time...

Here are my rule changes which have changed one last time, I'll be sending this list to Tom soon for serious consideration or a good laugh. and I'll be staring the changes I really wanna see, the rest is just my thoughts but I can live without them becoming I reality:

*1. Instead of converts, make TD worth 7 points with an another TD attempt afterwards for one point every time (see Action Point topic) (like in the WFL (1974-1975)). However, the CJFL and maybe the CIS should still use Kick coverts to please traditionalists, because unlike some people, I believe in compromise.
2. Bring back the OT lose point but change the points system to: 3 for a win, 2 for a tie or OT win, one for an OT lose, none for a lose. Also, half a point should be given to the teams that haven’t play all their game up to that week (Example, week 3, Team A has played 3 games, and has 6 points, team B has played 2 games and has 6 1/2 points).
*3. Keep the cross over, this makes the CFL more based on the league than divisions, unlike the other pro leagues of North America. Because of the CO, instead of awarding the team that wins the division final the division trophy, it should be award to the team that has the best record in that division and before play the game to decide which team goes to the Grey Cup (the “Semi as I call it), their be a ceremony for the team and a presentation of the trophy, then the game. Because it makes no sense that a CO team should get the division trophy.
4. The Single should be extended to include quick kicks and punts on plays and Kickoffs that somehow go though the goal post should be worth a Single. My hope is that this will increase the kicking game a little. If it happens on a punt, 3 points. A fumble and/or interception in the end zone by the D but they fail to get it out of the zone should be a single as well.
*5. If the ball hits the post, it should be a single, unless it goes in. Becase the post is OB and if the ball is OB in the in zone, it's a Single.
6. The Import rule should be for non Canadian citizens only. When an Import player gains Canadian citizenship, he is no longer an Import but a Non Import.
7. The season should have a 4 week preseason ( beginning with an All Star game with last years all stars, optional  ) then a 20 game regular season. A team has two byes in a 20 game regular season, so each team would play 18 games. There should be 10 weeks when all 10+ teams play and 10 weeks where 2 teams sit out, the first 5, 4 game weeks can be early and the other, late in the season. (see "The Draft" topic for more info)
8. When the time is right (that being when Canada pop and the NFL free agent list gets higher), expand all teams rosters to 42 players, 3 QB (1 import, 2 non import), 20 non import players, 19 import players.
9. Have a stronger but fair Salary Cap
10. The teams will have 2 Challengers a piece in each half, with a man upstairs dictating what's going on (TMO). Which are independent of the one time outs that the teams already have. If a challenge is made, the refs have 90 seconds to review a play before making a final decision in the play. If no decision is reached in that time, the original call stands.
11. Just for kicks (no pun intended), I’d like to see the CFL try out 4 point FGs in an exhibition game or two.
12. A CFL Error System, HT can explain this better, but I’d like to add that I think that a TD that is made by a player but is taken back by the Refs should still be a TD in the guys stats by under a different option (like taken or missed TDs)
*13. There should be a penalty on out of bounds punts, 10 yards for intentional, 5 yards for non. If it can’t be determined, then 10 yard penalty because it would get coaches to not do that.
14. How about converting from yards to meters? Too confusing? Does the NFL Euro do that?
*15. Singles on a missed FG should stay, why? Because a missed field goal is wide and/or has maybe factors that could make the attempt miss, plus it puts pressure on the D not to let the O even get in range for any points, and with a longer field and end zone to there advantage, it just makes sense in this great Canadian game.

(I'm saving this topic to my favorites, so if anything comes up, I just continually update it for those interested)

Kanga your being ridiculous
Please tell me you didnt write to the commis about that.
NHL rule change suck I believe you said

not yet, but after readng that atricle, I'm enpowered to do so.

Why? if they just get rid of the Kick convert and leave the 2 pont convert, that is going to lower scores! not good!

fine
When he laughs at you you can post it here

Holy cow. Would anything be left of the old game other than the crossover?

will do, we will all have fun, eh?

you still got the No Yards and Singles. I’m only really serious about those I stared, the rest are my thoughts but I’m not as serious.

How about the ball? Is it ok?
Maybe we can have stitches on 2 sides so the QB does not have to roll it as far when he is going to throw.

Here we go, Kanga!

Sorry, I'm a traditionalist. The kick conversion has always been part of most football games, so I disagree with you there.
No bye points please. Remember I introduced the 3-2-1-0 point system.
I don't care who they give any trophy to, just as long as the Grey Cup is played between two teams. I like the crossover because it eliminates inequities in the current divisional setup.
The single is odd territory for me, because I don't necessarily understand it. However, lets say that a single can be scored from anything but a set play (kickoff). Punts, FG shots, all that. I don't think that a team should be awarded with a point for throwing an interception in the end zone, so leave it be.
5. If the ball hits the post, it should be a single, unless it goes in. Becase the post is OB and if the ball is OB in the in zone, it's a Single.
On kicks only, though. I also believe that it should have to go through untouched, not hitting the post, not hitting a player, right off of the ground and the kicker's foot. Like in AFL.
6. The Import rule should be for non Canadian citizens only. When an Import player gains Canadian citizenship, he is no longer an Import but a Non Import.
Or Canadian collegiates? That'd work alright as well, but you may end up with a lot more Americans dominating the field if your former Americans were classified as Canadians.
7. The season should have a 4 week preseason ( beginning with an All Star game with last years all stars, optional :D ) then a 20 game regular season. A team has two byes in a 20 game regular season, so each team would play 18 games. There should be 10 weeks when all 10+ teams play and 10 weeks where 2 teams sit out, the first 5, 4 game weeks can be early and the other, late in the season. (see "The Draft" topic for more info)
I like the preseason the way it is. I would like to see, when the league is 10 teams, the bye weeks become consolidated - if you want to expand the preseason, take out one bye. And make sure that teams with 2 weeks rest only play against other teams with 2 weeks rest. I'm sure nobody is contending the 1 home, 1 away aspect of a 10-team league.
8. When the time is right (that being when Canada pop and the NFL free agent list gets higher), expand all teams rosters to 42 players, 3 QB (1 import, 2 non import), 20 non import players, 19 import players.
Your jurisdiction, not mine.
9. Have a stronger but fair Salary Cap
See 8
Yes, but instead of 2 per half, 3 per game.
11. Just for kicks (no pun intended), I’d like to see the CFL try out 4 point FGs in an exhibition game or two.
Yes. But just in exhibition. I don't like seeing teams awarded unnecessarily for their kicker's prowess. If they do, it has to be from behind the 55 yard line. The good thing about a 4 point field goal is that it jumbles up the scorelines a bit more (like the rouge does).
12. A CFL Error System, HT can explain this better, but I’d like to add that I think that a TD that is made by a player but is taken back by the Refs should still be a TD in the guys stats by under a different option (like taken or missed TDs)
1-percenters?
*13. There should be a penalty on out of bounds punts, 10 yards for intentional, 5 yards for non. If it can’t be determined, then 10 yard penalty because it would get coaches to not do that.
Nah...gets a little confusing. Coffin corner kicks are hard to make...a better idea, if the ball goes out inside the opposing red zone (on the fly, not on the bounce), then the receiving team that didn't get a chance to run it gets it on the 25 instead.
14. How about converting from yards to meters? Too confusing? Does the NFL Euro do that?
NFL Europe does not do that. It wouldn't be confusing at all...but, I'm not sure that it would fly so well.
The single is the basic basic basic score. The TD is the intermediate score. Keep the threat of a single in play.

Steve
There is no single for an interception in the endzone.

If the ball hit the post and goes in it is a field goal if it goes out it is a dead ball.

No matter but I thought I introduces the 3-2-1-0 system

Hopefully Kanka's letter will be used to start the fire in the old wood stove at the next snow storm.

Sorry Kanga....To radical for me.

the CFL balls are fine, much better than the NFL’s balls are.

I’m a very radical person

The game is good the way it is. Kanga should start his own league (the KKFL). Hopefully it lasts about as long as the XFL.

That a crure thing to say, Tbone! you totally T Boned me then!

It wouldn't hurt to try some of these in a CFL exhibution. if the CFL is think about doing any chage, it should try it frist and not just throw it on people like the NHL did.

How in heck can you post this and still complain about the changes the NHL made???

You might want to spell check that, and grammer check it, and have a few people look it over and re write it for you a few times before you send it anywhere. Not everyone has been kangaixed like the rest of us.

because they forced the changes on people and the changes had almost nothing to do with the rules the AHL tried last season. I mean, did you hear abou the AHL putting in that rule that resister the goalies moment???

These was nothing really wrong with the 'old' NHL except the two line offside pass and large pads.

will do, Billy.
