MONTREAL — Nick Arbuckle wore a look of shock, relief and wonder on Saturday evening, in the wake of the Toronto Argonauts’ 30-28 Eastern Final win over the Montreal Alouettes.

Argos defence was great in the 2 regular season games vs the Bombers and will have to be again to have a chance in the Grey Cup.
The defense was poor against both Ottawa and Montreal in the playoffs, Argos being bailed out by Kelly’s long bombs against Ottawa and the Als 4 (!) fumbles in Argo territory. That won’t happen next Sunday.

Yes, the Argos defense gave up a lot of yards, but they forced 6 turnovers including one pic-six touchdown and they also picked off a pass on a critical 2 point convert attempt! It wasn’t that the Als fumbled 4 times, it was that the Argos forced all 4 of those fumbles. Against Ottawa, the defense also gave up a lot of yards, but they scored two touchdowns with pic-sixes. If you call that poor, then you are wrong.

Ryan Dinwiddie has to devise a good offensive plan for Arbuckle to succeed. Argos can’t rely on their defence and hope for a low-scoring game. If they can successfully run the ball they will have a chance.

You’re right, poor wasn’t the best word to use. They gave up too many yards, but made big plays at the right time. If I remember correctly the Bombers fumbled once in Argo territory in their game in October (14-11 Argos). That game the Argos D really was great with 7 sacks and an interception. Can they play at that level again? Can’t wait for Sunday.

Although I think the Bombers have the edge heading into the Grey Cup, it will not be an easy game to win. Nobody should underestimate Nick Arbuckle.

Good things happen to good people
Nic Arbuckle is one of those good people
I don’t know him personally but I have met him on a few occasions before and after games and he has always been more then accommodating to take the time to speak to us and our grandkids love him
It’s always funny how life seems to work out
No one wanted to sign him but the Argos took a chance because Coach believes in him
Win or lose next Sunday it’s already paid off for the Argos organization, the fans and the man himself
We got your back Nic

The guy has never accomplished a damn thing in his entire career . Bouncing from one team to the next and never showing anything above a mediocre ceiling at best . Honestly can’t see how he possibly just flicks a switch and gets the job done next week on the biggest stage in the biggest game of the season .
