OK Tire Labour Day Weekend offers major West implications

TORONTO — One of the most exciting things about the CFL is that every game counts.

There’s no room for error from June to November, but that doesn’t mean some matchups aren’t even more important than others.

The west certainly gets exciting after the wins and losses are recorded. All west teams need a win. Four west teams are playing interlocking games and on home and away schedules.
Probably the most important two games to not lose all season for Riders, Bombers, stamps and Elk.
BC can ill afford a loss this weekend to say the least .

A sweep is probably most important for the Elks as they are 2 wins behind a playoff spot.

IMO the Riders are better than the Bombers at this point. They are good vs the run, the Bombers next to last. With Ouellette & Hickson they need to run the ball. The Bomber DL is vulnerable. On the other side with Lanier & Micah both back, they will be tough to run against, Brady or not. And the Bomber OL is hurting. The Bomber offence still consists largely of a TD/game & lots of Castillo. If they match their current rate it will only take 20 points or more to outscore them.

Most likely outcome is splits for the Western opponents but would be very surprised if the Bombers swept. Riders, not so much - they’ve played pretty well despite losing & have had some bad luck.

We’ll see.

Both the Riders and the Lions will lose largely due to inconsistent quarterbacking. It’s a difficult problem for the quarterbacks to solve in waiting.
