I believe that no ref should be chosen if the team in his home province is in the Cup. We not only have to be impartial but we have to also appear to be impartial.

Not that long ago some posters complained about Al Bradbury working WPG games because he was “from there.” However, I learned that he and his wife are from Hamilton but have lived in WPG in for years. So, which way might his bias lean IF he had any bias?

Having lived in Wpg for 30 years…my guess would be WPG
But…When you have a name like Proulx, and an accent…who does he automatically get accused of favoring?
And he gets it both ways…He gets accused of favoring Mtl because he is from Quebec and because everyone knows he is from Quebec, he gets accused of over compensating so he is not accused
No other ref gets treated like he does because of their name

In the case of Bradbury, I’d say his bias leans towards the buffet table

I regularly felt that Bradbury overcompensated against Winnipeg so as not to be accused of being biased. He never seemed to give the Bombers the benefit of the doubt on the close calls and toss-ups. Officials do have a very tough job.

Yet I felt he always looked the other way. keeping in mind that he only announced the vast majority of flags and did not throw them

Bradbury looked great this year!
I think he dropped 50lbs, and looked much healthier.
I don’t always agree with his decisions, but super happy to see his health improve!

I agree that in this case, nothing would happen, because my comment was a lighthearted quip of the sort that is made all the time.
But for arguments’ sake, lets pretend that I or another mod made a comment that actually would have been out of line…
If that were the case, you are stating that a flag would be ineffective because the comment was posted by a mod. Why would you say that? Are you saying that mods are corrupt and/or lacking integrity? Because if they were honest, then it wouldn’t matter if a post was made by a mod or not, if it broke the rules, it would be deleted. But if you think that it would be left alone based on who posted it, then you must think that the mods are biased, corrupt, and lack integrity. Is that what you are saying?
Because if you are saying that mods lack the integrity to enforce the rules, then that is an open attack on the mod staff as a group, and a serious charge. So I just want to be sure that I am reading your implication correctly.
