I think times have changed a little, Hamilton is supporting their team even though they are terrible. Baseball is taking a nosedive because its not "our game" unlike the CFL and hockey. After the Jays won the back to back World Series titles, it seem that support was waning even then, and the strike of '94 killed the casual fan's interest in baseball. I think that is another factor in the demise of the Lynx. Baseball is scandal ridden right now, and its not helping their image. Its hard to watch a ball game now and not look at a batter and wonder, is he juiced? Even Bonds' numbers are way down, so if he didnt take steroids, why is he not close to his season of 73 HRs? Its just not fun to watch MLB anymore, and that had a trickle down effect with the Lynx as well. IMO, the CFL has a chance in Ottawa, if they get another franchise, they will be the only game in town from June to September, when the hockey season starts. Any owner would do well to exploit that fact and keep fans interested after the NHL season has started.
the Macon Knights also closed up shop today here in Georgia, check other football for details, it's a all to famuilar tale for the Ottawa fans.
