Moderation Policy
Generally speaking, moderators will make an effort to resolve minor issues without having to hand out formal warnings. However, in the interests of transparency and consistency, this moderation policy document addresses how we handle all significant infractions on this forum.
For user code of conduct guidelines, see the CFL Forum Code of Conduct.
Infraction Levels
First Infraction
Unless the infraction falls into category 8 (Threatening, intimidating, or harassing other members), your first infraction will result in your post being edited or deleted and a warning from a moderator. Alternatively, you may receive a 24-hour “cool down” silencing if your actions seem to warrant a temporary timeout, such as posting multiple inflammatory comments in a game thread.
Second Infraction
Unless the infraction falls into category 8, you will receive a silencing of up to 14 days, depending on the severity of the infraction and your past discipline record.
Third Infraction
Unless the infraction falls into category 8 (see below), you will receive a silencing of 2-4 weeks, depending on the severity of the infraction and your past discipline record.
Fourth Infraction
You will receive a suspension of 1-3 months, depending on the severity of the infraction and your past discipline record.
Fifth Infraction
You will receive a suspension of 3 months to 1 year OR a permanent ban, depending on the severity of the infraction and your past discipline record.
Expiring of Infractions
Though infractions are never erased from your record, the moderating team will not consider older infractions when deciding on a course of action if your behavior on the forum has consistently improved since the date of those infractions.
Category 8 - Threats, Intimidation, or Harassment
We have zero tolerance for any behavior that constitutes a threat to another member’s well being, harassment of another member (whether sexually motivated or otherwise), or any form of intimidation. Any such infraction will be treated as a fourth infraction the first time, and will trigger an automatic permanent ban the next time the behavior occurs.
