O-Line to blame for lack of running game!

Actually, the OL did make a few holes in the front four, which Cobb hit. Unfortunately, the Als’ linebackers were reading the run almost every time and plugged the holes as soon as they saw where he was going. As I said on the Cobb thread, it looks like Cobb is telegraphing the play call by his stance and motion before the snap.

BINGO. I would guess that Cobb has lost confidence. Not in himself, because his play away from the O-line remains stellar, but in the runblocking ability of the line. When he tries to run to the hole, it’s not there most of the time. Why would he continue to be confident that it would be there if 9 times out of 10 it isn’t? If the runblocking does not improve in the next few games, the Cats’ O is in a lot of trouble.
