I'm with FYB on this... try following some other sports. There's also the NBA, if you don't mind corrupt/incompetent officiating. You could try following a junior hockey league. Sadly, I haven't had much time for the OHL this year. 
I know what you are saying. Since the lockout, I could care less about the NHL. Basketball? What the heck is that even? Baseball is BO-RING! It was fun to watch the big hitters, but now it's coming out that was just 'roids. NFL? Ok, a little here, a little there, but 4 downs and you still can't move the ball 10 yards? A little frusterating. Besides high school ,junior and university football, I'd rather watch How's It Made on Discovery, or even old MASH reruns.

I'm going to spend my time trying to figure out what part of the anatomy of hockey players is actually injured when they say so and so is out with an upper body injury. Man that bugs me when I hear that, it's like it's some CIA coverup and a national security issue. It's a friggin separated shoulder or sprained wrist or whatever for pete sakes!

Nothing says fun like watching 10 minor variations of skiing fast, 5 variations of skating fast, a short hockey tournament, a short hockey tournament without hitting, and trying to figure out how the **** the scoring works in curling for the umpteenth time
