Now, it's on to Edmonton

“Lost by a rouge” what an under-rated Canadian phrase lol

That made me think about the Tragically Hip song, “Ahead by a Century”. That would make a good song line or title: “Ahead by a century [100], or lost by a rouge [1]”…

After watching the Hamilton defence have difficulty with the mobility of Dustin Crum, I think the Tiger-Cats should have a plan in place for the possibility of facing Tre Ford on Thursday night. I will remind everyone (again) that the 2022 version of the Edmonton Elkimos only won 4 games, and one of those victories came at the expense of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Tim Horton’s Field.

Edmonton’s starting QB on that lovely Canada Day afternoon was none other than Tre Ford. My recollection of that game is that Ford was steady, not spectacular, but the 'Cats had difficulty in containing him. Ultimately, the Elkimos won that game because they won the turnover battle, and Ford did not make any horrible mistakes.

Chris Jones may try to replicate that recipe for success. The 'Cats need to prepare for that possibility.

Elks.

Unless Edmonton trades Ford to Ottawa this week, in an offer they cant refuse.

Or this

Re mobile QBs like Crum or Ford (or actually any QB), DC Washington has to drill it into the heads of whoever is covering the defensive line ends to stay home and not chase down or crash down the line leaving outside the tackles open to attack, like Crum’s uncontested 15 yard TD run.

IIRC it was DE Carney who chased down the fake handoff, leaving an open path around his position to the end zone.

Check this out.

The article says it would have to be right for MBT to return to the CFL. Maybe stay at home and fly in for game days, while waiting for the NFL to call??

I’m sorry but at 35 years of age and being mediocre at best the Geico man is going to be sitting waiting for his phone to ring from someone in the NFL for a very , very , very long time .

The final Injury Report, for this game, posted mistakenly in the Depth Chart thread, confirms that Mason Bennett and Myles Manalo will both be out, from the Ottawa game line-up, and the only player who the Elks may be without, from their last game’s line-up, is starting DE A.C. Leonard, listed as Questionable.

No, but he could return to the CFL for the remainder of this season and maybe for a few more years.
Burris played until 42 and took Ottawa to a Grey Cup.
Except MBT is a pocket guy and gets sacked quite a bit

Did Damen Allen play until 44?

All we need is a QB who can throw TD’s from the red zone. Until then any team can
beat us.

The Elks are lined up Off-Side in that photo.

How about the guy they picked up from Edmonton?

Funny how they listed FB Manalo as being OUT on the injury report but show him listed on the depth chart.
