:als_red: Non-Alouettes CFL Talk

With the Als using their 2 Globals as kickers, a guy like Miangue would have to be classified as an American. Is he of that caliber?

We’ve had OG Nouili stick around for 2 years with out getting a sniff of action. Not sure why he even bothers.

Free agency from the Bombers standpoint:

I expect the 5 players mentioned to return with the Bombers.

I could be totally wrong, but I don’t expect much activity in this year’s free agency basically no top players signing with another team; yes, there could/should be movements for reserve players but not the top ones.

This was an interesting article to read. I’ll be curious to see if Stanback and Lewis are back with the team under Dinwiddie. I expect to see players like McManus and other Argo free agents making their way to Ottawa. I won’t be shocked to see him try and trade for Kelly.

I could be wrong, but I think they tend to release these pieces in reverse order of previous season’s success. So because Ottawa was the worst team in the league in 2025, they get the first spotlight. Toronto should be next, then Edmonton. Etc.

-C. Speiker A receveur signé le 1/10/24 jusqu’en 2026
-D. Ventrelli A garde signé le 24/11/25 jusqu’en 2027.
-J. Gibbon N garde signé le 2/01/25 jusqu’en 2026

22-3: 19

Ajouts:
-J. Letcher Jr. A receveur
-S.T.E. N demi offensif
-L.Rice N bloqueur offensif
-S. Lemon A ailier défensif

19+4: 23

La mise à jour quotidienne de ses listes sur le site de la CFL, nous permettra de voir l’évolution du nombre d’agents libres potentiels par équipe.

Only guy who didn’t have a better situation lined up, I’m assuming. I wish him the best of luck but this is not an ideal situation.

Argos HC

Ils ont pris moins de temps que quand on est allé chercher Mike Sherman.

“After Mike O’Shea said no, and Orlondo Steinauer said no, and Corey Mace declined to be interviewed, we decided that the guy already on our payroll is the best candidate for the job.”

Well-played, Pinball. You sided with a guy who wanted to sweep sexual harassment under the rug against the guy who gave you two Grey Cups and a 16-2 season in four years. Reap what you sow.

Certainly a lot of food for thought with this. I’m quite surprised he’s leaving Calgary after all these years.

The Roughriders off-season to do list:

With the big jump in the salary cap, I think teams should be able to re-sign the players they want to re-sign.

I totally agree with you, Sheldon, that with the major increase in the cap, teams “should be able to re-sign players they want to re-sign”. Good players-could include players such as Sankey- could not be re-signed, not because of lack of funds, but because teams feel that it is the time to go into another direction.

As I wrote before, I don’t expect major movements of top players to other teams.

And just to reiterate, I’m not really anti-Sankey, just feel it is time to promote Cantin-Arku who has been a play maker, and feel he can do just as well as Sankey. And don’t want to lose Richards.
