The one’s who are the quickest to jump to conclusions on other teams are generally the biggest apologists for their own. Just a general observation.
I would like to know what the “extenuating circumstances” were.
And if it was Joe Shlub instead of Collaros would it also only be one game?
Fair. Though, I can’t imagine that Collaros is actually on steroids.
There are all kinds of substances besides steroids that are banned. Stuff to help bounce back from injury, etc.
I don’t think he’s on PED either but no one ever thinks someone is until/unless they’re caught.
This is one of those things where transparency would be best for all. Giving some idea of why he couldn’t be reached might just end the suspicion. For example, he was at a fishing camp with no cell service with the Kelice brothers.
Or he thought it was a Winnipeg Sun reporter wanting to talk about his Grey Cup performances.
But yeah just say what the extenuating circumstances were or else some will have a field day with this.
I’ve always liked Collaros. Reading the Winnipeg Free Press article posted in the main forum has convinced me he wasn’t evading testing, and that the testers should have reached out to the team when they couldn’t contact him.
But social media being what it is he will be taking his hits over this. Hopefully no concussions.
Yeah this seems a little dumb.
Whether anyone likes a player or not has 0 relevance to whether they might be taking PEDs. People you like might actually do bad things! Yes, it’s true, I promise you.
Nouveau dg Ed Hervey
Nouvel entraîneur-chef Mark Kilam
They will be a lot like the Redblacks of 2024. A work in progress. I think they will be very competitive down the stretch. Depth is an issue so staying healthy will probably dictate their season more than anything else.
Early in the season, the D tends to be ahead of the Offence. IMO the Elks can get off to a fairly good start as the changes on D include bringing in a complete DL from the Argos & the guy who coached them last year. Familiarity shouldn’t be a problem. They still have Morgan & Anderson too.
The back end has some VG talent but may take some time to really gel. But I believe that the front 7 will be able to create enough problems for opponents to ease the pressure on the back end. They’re not exactly newbies & have 9 GC rings between them on defence.
The schedule is also favourable. They play BC who ranked last in every OL category last year & has a couple of changes on OL. After a 2nd week bye, they get a tough game at home vs the Als. But in week 4 they get the same old OL who were owned by that Argo DL that’s now in Edmonton. And the Bombers are on a short week.
We’ll see. It will be a very interesting season this year. I see the old guard changing a bit.
LaPo’s got a ton of offensive intelligence to share, and I respect that, but it is flat-out comical how much he overfocuses on western teams, and how much he ignores the Als. This is a man-beater concept that he claims every team in the league runs, but there is literally not a single eastern team offence featured in the whole segment. He’s got like four, possibly five Rider clips of the same damn pattern. But he can’t be bothered to show what Hamilton, Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto are doing.
I wound up unsubbing his channel.
Tunnel vision is probably what ruined his coaching career… just sayin.
A story on Chris Fortin in Stamps camp.
Also mention of how playing CGEP football helps the development of Quebec players.
He doesn’t know much about eastern teams, and certainly not about the Als, and doesn’t care to know. Over and over again, you can tell that he watches Rider and Bomber games primarily, with a bit of Edmonton and Calgary thrown in, and that’s where he gets 95% of his film from. If it happens to include eastern teams, great, but he rarely if ever focuses on the east.
I mean, JFC, we went 12-5-1 last year and finished on top of the league, but to watch LaPo’s segments, you’d think we didn’t exist or do anything of note on the offensive or defensive side of the ball.
Guys like this running around pretending to be objective.
Funny thing he’s right from south of the border in NH. He’s never said one positive word about Montreal or Quebec.
Like I said, he’s got a lot of football knowledge to share, but I’m not subbing a guy on Youtube who acts like my team doesn’t exist.
