Amos and Lawler will make them better. Stubbs yes IF he’s the same player he was before the injury. Though having said that, Stubblefield has all of 3/4 of one season on his resume AND he was playing on a stacked defence, alongside top-tier guys like Sankey and Beverette. Will he be able to replicate his 2023 success for Monson in a different scheme with different players? Unclear.
I still do not buy Hamilton’s pass rush. I think they are going to have trouble getting a push with their front four. And without sustained pressure, your backend is going to struggle no matter how good they are.
Big difference IMO. Philpot was posting elite #1 numbers until that freak turf injury in 2024, and that was as the main target, with Mack still trying out in the NFL and so on.
He put up boss numbers in just 9 GP: 58/72 catches for 779 yards and 5 TDs. Lots of high-point deep-ball catches. A threat all over the field.
And as you noted, Philpot is also five years younger than KJG. If he keeps getting injured, yeah, we’ll talk, but he was healthy in 2022, missed 1/3 of 2023, and then had that freak injury in 2024. I think he’ll be fine.

La nomination complète de ce poste d’entraîneur est difficile à comprendre peut-être que nous en saurons davantage, éventuellement, sur son rôle : « pro player personnel assistant ».
Dans la CFL, nous retrouvons des personnes qui travaillent comme entraîneur et travaillent également aux opérations football, comme chez les Alouettes Byron Archambault au poste d’entraîneur comme adjoint à l’entraîneur-chef et coordonnateur des unités spéciales et aux opérations football comme directeur du personnel des joueurs, mais c’est clair et pris.
Est-ce que la même situation pour Jason Shivers qui travaillerait en partie pour les opérations football et comme entraîneur?

Vite un nouveau commissaire qui permettra à la ligue d’atteindre un nouveau niveau de gestion, de leadership, de vision en collaboration avec la CFPA.
I actually thought that Dickenson’s point about why do paid professional athletes need to be feed? I know some of them don’t make much money but we have admins making less then the worst paid CFL players and we don’t serve them breakfast. Part of the answer is because if everyone else is doing you have to, but it is an interesting perception that they would need to be feed. Now the guys on the practice roster, they need to be feed and housed!
Admins aren’t athletes, whose bodies are their job, and breakfast speaks to keeping that job.
I’m never sad when workers win something – and I’m not talking about stupid-rich NFL players, who are not workers in any meaningful sense. When actual ordinary people win gains from the employer, it allows others to do the same.
I agree that the PR guys need room and board. I’d rather not pay the top QBs an extra $100k if it means providing some kind of subsistence for the guys busting their nut and in many cases moving to a different country just for the possibility of a job.
And as @ALS46 already noted, this is a positive outcome of that anonymous player survey. Calgary got shamed into doing better. That’s the only way employers do anything for their employees.
