This ad campaign would be (or would have been) much more effective, in my opinion, if they chose games in which a team was down by two touchdowns or more late in the game, when seems like a safe lead, then showed each scoring play that eventually led to a win by the team that looked certain to lose. I wouldn't consider a lead of less than 7 points to be safe, so I don't find the ads very compelling. It's not when scores are close that people stop watching (unless they have heart conditions, maybe), it's when the scores are too far apart.
