Nick Setta

I guess it might be a good thing Nick isn't having as good a year as last year.

If he had he'd probably you have been kicking south of the border next year.

Good work Nick.

Nick has been a better punter this year....he got off to a slow start in FG kicking but has rebounded well..the problem is he may leave this year....we need to sign him long-term

Nick’s punts were outstanding last night and the few blips were not his fault. Snaps were a little off last night. A high snap is the reason he missed that last field goal.

Nick has been one of the few bright spots on this team since his arrival and if we cannot get him under contract that will prove to me that our GM is completely inept. If you make him the right offer he will stay.

The slow start to the field goals may have had something to do with different holders and the fact that Robichaud was out for a few weeks.

NICK IS A MUST SIGN!!! No two ways about it.

You are right, Nick is a keeper. But I thought the snap was a grounder.

I thought the punt in the endzone was a grounder, but the field goal was high, I may be wrong. It could have been a grounder, but it was the reason for the miss either way.

it was a grounder

Low and away. Porter did a great job just getting it up for Setta to give a shot. If we can find a way to lose Murphy's Law rules.

if it wasn't for setta's accidental single last nite we would've had to drive for a td instead of trying a field goal

BG, I'd like Nick to stay too; he's a neat guy and a fine player. But I think your comment here is a bit of a stretch... If Nick decides to leave (which I hope he doesn't), maybe it will not necessarily be proof that Obie is inept, but rather because he wants to return to the NFL, which is in his own country and where the pay is way better.

I would not blame Nick one bit if he decided to try to make an NFL team, however, if he stays in the CFL and he's not a Ticat... we're doomed!

Setta could probably make the NFL as a punter and kickoff specialist....and obviously back-up PK.

IF we hadn't given up 1 or 2 safety touches........

THEY HAVE BEEN TRYING TO SIGN HIM FOR A WHILE SOMEONE FROM THE OFFICE HAS TOLD ME!!!

Apparently, Nick's agent hasn't been offered
a salary that is acceptable for his client yet,

but they have been negotiating
off and on for a long while.

P.S.

There are always two sides to an issue,

and there are two people at the table who
represent each side in negotiating contracts.

Teams like to set maximum salaries for all positions
and G.M.s have overall team budgets to follow.

Sometimes the two may never meet.

Obie inept, you are inept, it is obvious he will try for he money of the NFL

Obie is inept because a player wants to test his market value?!?

I love the CFL but if I could make 10X more money playing in the NFL plus get a kick a** pension... the choice is easy.

If Setta doesn't sign in the NFL I think he'll sign with the 'Cats. Pretty much every team in the CFL has a decent kicker... so there isn't much room to move.

But if Setta does leave... we're doooooooomed!

As obvious as the pimple on your wanker?

If A NFL Teams wants him
It will be for his Punting.

If he chooses to try his luck down south, that is beyone our control. If he ends up signing with another CFL team I stand by my initial assessment.

Inept?
I don't think so. Obie is a canny old devil. He should not be underestimated even after the Moreno debacle.
It looks to me right now we are seeing the beginnings of the Tiger-Cats of the future. And it will be a combination none of us could have predicted a month ago. Bellefeuille (now we know why he was hired), Porter, Keith, McCaulley, Anthony... not sure about Setta though. Hope he stays. But no Jesse and no Casey and hopefully no Creehan. I think we will see this pattern evolving more over the rest of this season.
I can't wait.
